Here is the demo for my game NEGATIVE. This game is not your average shooter...using cover in combat is essential! all things seen ingame have been retxtured (apart from the fake doors) Anyway the story:

An average day at school, a boring day. On your way home you are struck by lightning. By some bizarre co-incidence the exact same thing happened to another person in a univerese quite, quite different from our own. The two physical entities are incorrectly re-arranged, you are now in a large, rather odd storage facility in an alternate universe. You see a weapon in the crate nearest to you...time for action

Please download and leave feedback

Evil Star,

Greetings. While this will probably get moved to the FPSC Showcase, it's great to see samplings pop up like this. Please do keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Seth Black

last for now

p.s there are no lightmaps to keep the textures at full effectivness. I put lighting in and it ruined the effect. That is my reason

No problem...that's why they pay me the big bucks!

Moving threads is part of my job and everyone posts a thread in the wrong place sooner or later. No big deal.

Erm, I downloaded the demo and was surprised by the file size. When I opened the game folder there was no "files" folder. So i clicked on the EXE and the screen went black and the game never loaded. I had to ALT F4 to get off the program. Did you make a mistake when you built the exe?

13.47 MB??? You must be posting the wrong file. Zip up the ENTIRE folder of the level. Your level should be WELL over 13.47 MB.

Oh, and for a tip. When you make the negative image of your Gun Hud. Have just the gun selected and not the ENTIRE thing. It looks rather "ridiculous" having the white background.

Too bad I don't care about what you think about those. I was giving you advice and help. That hud looks awkward. you NEED to make the background invisible.

Oh and for the record I think I won't help you again because of your response. I don't care if it is your game or your hud, that means nothing to me. The fact that it looks extremely strange makes the game a bit worse. The negative images could be a good idea.

[EDIT] I just played your demo. There is one word I need to say "BULLETHOLES" you didn't negative image those. There is WAY too many boxes as well. The level was 40 ft long and had like 80 boxes. My computer sucks so I was getting about 15 fps a second for a minute game. You need some work but its a start.

Sorry 'bout that Jenkins little angry at the point of postage... Model pack 5 is being extremly stubborn, no real time to explain. I don't want to have to alter the hud pixel by pixel (serif photoplus 6 won't completly fill large areas of colour to well) so I'll intergate it into the hud somehow. Sorry again, how about a copy of the game two days early?

I don't know anything about photoplus but there is a quick mask button. It will turn everything to a transparent red. You will still be able to see the picture though. So what you do is you get the paint brush and you have the white color out. Color in the white background. If you accidentally color over some of the gun, change the white color and make it black then color over the messed up part. When you have it completely colored the way you want it, the background will be selected. This way you can just grab the paint brush and start coloring it black. If photoplus doesn't have quick mask, I would be glad to make it black. Although I still don't know how to make it invisible, I could at least make it black.

There is no quick mask function.
In that case can you do that and post it here please? Also, do you know any good programs for adding passwords to files?

hmmmm, I don't know of any. You could always Google it

I'll get the background black. But I still don't know how to make it invisible. I know what I have to do, but I don't know how to get there. Airslide told me I'm supposed to click on "advanced options" Fill with to transparency. But I don't see an advanced options. Maybe I need a Gimp update.... I'll make it black for now. Then I'll try and make it invisible later.

Okay I got the background black. All I need to do is add transparency to it now. I'm going to make another thread so i don't "hijack" this one.

It will still show the black background. I have to add transparency to it. I know because I've tried making my hud several times, but I could never make it invisible. I made a thread though, just a matter of time til it's replied to.
