Just wanted to show you all some work of my latest (and for now last gaming project with FPSC, besides CJ2). It's called SpiderZ. As some of you know I'm making comics besides games and SpiderZ is the title from one of my most popular comics.

SpiderZ is what I've called an Interactive Comic Game. You get to read the comic and while reading, you participate in some of the parts of the comics. There are a number of missions the reader gets involved into, all based on the comic itself. I'm not sure how many levels there will be in total, 3 for sure, but maybe more. Besides playing, you of course get to read the complete comic as well.

The game is still in development, 2 levels are completely finished, work will start on the 3rd level soon. Once the game is done, everyone can play it, since I will release it for free.

First screenshot are parts from the comic SpiderZ on which the game is based.

UPDATE: Here's a preview video to the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdqBXnwBA_s

That's the whole idea, quite a lot of work to accomplish, since you have to redo and layer each texture, but worked well.

As close to a real one as possible. I'm not an animator, so it was a huge challenge and to be honest not much fun in the end. I had trouble getting it all into FPSC, but somehow managed.

No they don't, they're crawling towards you and then 'bite'. I'll make a video soon, then you can see how they behave.

I don't think the crosshair fits the setting. It should be gray-ish, and not like the one from Commander Josh. lol

And maybe the spiders could shoot a venom / web projectile on the third level.

And man, imagine the boss fights you can make.

Looks great!

You're right about that, I'll change that as soon as I have some time.

You're kidding right? I can't even get the spider to be character, only an entity, so I can't add weapons to it. Hopefully someone will release a cool spider character one of these days.... how about it rolfy, in for a challenge?

Rolfy could prob do it. Given that he did the pitcrawler which in a way would probably work like this.

Looks good ben!

I'm sure you can do 100% better then me. I'm a non-organic modeler, I can model about anyhting my eyes do see, as long as it is non-organic. When it comes to organic models, I fail each time I try, so after all these years I've given up. So yes I'd love to see you create a cool looking and well working spider, let me know when you've managed to it and if it doesn't take ages, I could still incorporate it into SpiderZ.

Sorry, I didn't know YouTube made use of java or flash. But since java and flash are very common items these days, I'd say install them. I'm only using YouTube for my videos, since it's an 'established' and well knoww site, so no wmv or other website.
