Hey, Dr Manette. I've taken a look at how to do maps. And I've done a map... with an editor I made for the game (could not refuse when I got the idea about how it could be done). If you want I can post it here.

EDIT:

I've uploaded the map I made.

Very cool, seems my guide wasn't as hard as I thought. I noticed you put the trebuchet (aka rocket launcher) in the map. That's built in, but doesn't really work. Could you post your editor, I'd like to see it!

Sorry, I didn't see it in my inbox. It might've gone to my junkmail... try sending it again.

Ok, I've uploaded the editor. It includes the source files, so you can se exactly what I've done. It works like this: You enter a name, a size and the number of rows in the map. Then you'll se a grid of white squares. You click in them to change the way the wall is facig (the red area represants the wall. No red area = empty area). When that is complete, you press backstab to continue. Then you can choose to input the values of the bms file manually in the editor, or do it later.

Anyway, BioMap is included to. The reason is that the editor can start it, if you want to find the positions of the players, the weapons etc.

The map making part works perfectly, I'm not keen on the spawn points though. You don't mind if I use parts of the code, though, right?

I've fixed the chainsaw problem using the pick object command, so that's one bug down. As for the maps menu, there's no telling when it'll be done (Jrock is working with us on that and other things). I'm going to go ahead and make a project announcements thread if no one else has any problems.

I don't like the spawnpoint part either, but I couldn't figure out how to draw up the map in the same way as in the game. But I'm glad you like the map making part . And of course you can use the code.
