Demo 1 (Fate - Outpost November) released: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=173524&b=35

Developer: PW Productions

Storyline: Humankind has tried to artificially evolve themselves to fast. Technology grew and grew, yet like all things, problems started to generate. The technologic problems started with BioChem Industries, an organisation which caused mankind numerous diseases and deformations beyond imagination. One of the mass breakouts was known as V87-HB. It caused massive deformities and mutations. It's life-changing capabilities earned it the name 'Fate'. The start of BioChem was never found. Survivors sacrificed themselves through hunts for the beginning of the corrupt industry. Yet all who tried either came back beyond distortion, or did not come back at all... You, Shaun Pyrril, a left-to-die survivor of the diseased colony ship 'Marina' have found your way to a BioChem outpost. From there, you may find clues and intel on how to reach the BioChem headquarters and relinquish Fate once and for all. That is... if you survive the outpost.

Description:
Well, I'd like to start out by saying, "No, I was not inspired by Wolf's level design in ANY way." I was chatting with a handful of people on MSN this morning and all of them thought the screenshots I showed them were like Wolf's. I guess you could say my 'style' is similar to Wolf's (although I'll never be as good as him), but I wasn't inspired by him. I was inspired a little bit by his story in his game Sybmiotic.

About the game - So this isn't really a shooter or a horror game, it's a mixture of both. Sometimes you'll stumble upon infected areas and other times you'll find yourself against human gaurds. The atmosphere isn't necessarily very dark, however it does have a musty, alone feel.

I won't be showing many weapons in action, but I will give you a peek at the main automatic you'll be using... The MP5N silenced from Exposure.

Thanks for the comments, DF and D0MINIK

I think I forgot to mention that almost everything is retextured... The only things that aren't retextured are some of the doors and like two segments.

New Screens:

Well, I said that I wasn't going to show many weapons... but I can't help it So here is the main heavy weapon you'll be using. The holographic sights in this game are very low-grade, crafted with spare parts by survivors. The actual image isn't lit up, simply drawn over.

I plan on having no crosshair in this game, as all guns will have ironsights (not melee weapons though). Same with the HUD, no info whatsoever.

I know, they look awesome too! As corpses, I mean.

Alright, I got some new candy for you guys...

A typical storage room. These rooms are large, yet now empty and abondoned. Yet the outpost obviously isn't abondoned...

You will see a lot of hallways similar to this. Cramped, claustrophobic, narrow, and crowded. Not an ideal place for fighting, yet that won't stop the horrors from coming after you...

Anyone got feedback?

Updated the cramped hallway. Only difference is that the pipe that's ahead of the ceiling light and above the door that was originally textured green, now uses a more greyscale/dark blue texture. Fits in a lot better.

And then some new screens:

The next screen is REALLY WiP, I was just testing some light source effects. The lights on the ceiling turned out pretty awesome

@Hamburger, I'm keeping your destroyed segments a surprise until a little later They turned out great and fitting once I grunged 'em up a bit

I'll make a tutorial sometime this weekend or next week And in FragMotion, so it's free and easy. If you have MilkShape, you should look for Airslide's tutorial. If not, wait a bit

Heheh... Thanks guys

I was thinking about retexturing the holo sight on the heavy assault rifle to make it look like it's off, or as if an EMP source deactivated it. That would probably add to the atmosphere of the game. What do you guys think?

Alright, I retextured the optic to be dirty instead of cracked, since cracked didn't look good within FPSC. Here's some screens:

Awesome job! Like how it's broken and all. Good job! And I think it really ads to the atmosphere. Now you only have to get rid of the crosshair and it's perfect!

Not English. Just random

@OutdoorGamer, just pronounce it like this: Pirrill. That easy.
