There seems to be a lot of new DBC users out there using the built-in editor - which is to be honest, terrible.

What you may not know is that there is a Windows editor supplied with DB Classic called DarkEdit. It's hidden away in a zip file called xdarkedit.zip (or something similar).

Just unzip it, set it up and you can forget the built-in editor for good!

However, the supplied editor is V1.55 and V1.56 was released as an update. Unfortunately it's not easy to find.

So, I'm attaching it here so you can download it.

There are a lot of alternative and better unofficial IDE's for DBC - some not yet finished - but DarkEdit is the official one and it is finished.

I like the built-in editor

Seriously, how do you make the little blue text come up below your message?

I've came to nitice that with my version of DBC 1.13 and Dark Edit, all of the expansion features are made available... and I don't have the expansion pack! Weird stuff, either a bug or an accident... or maybe they didn't care when writing the program. I do like DarkEdit though, more convenient to use.

It's only a sin if you get caught doing it...

Finally, I can compete in the DBC challenges outside of the 640 resolution headaches!

Blah, turns out I've had TDK's MiniIDE on my harddrive all along.
