Nice terminal, bad luck that you just missed the sci-fi console comp though?

Good luck with this, I like the green style of your model

You are relatively new here, so I have some advice.

If I were you, I would release some separate models for free, and maybe even release this or another pack for free, to let people get used to your work and grow to trust you.

After you've been here for 3-6 months, then I would start to sell them. Don't get me wrong, you have good models, but people might not trust you enough at this point to pay you.

Heres a screenie of the terminal and the satellite screen.
Plz note that the screen is still a WIP. Mostly its the illumination mapping that needs tweaking.

yes I did try blue, green and orange screens. After seeing it in game I think I might use the blue screen. I will also include a green version in the pack but not orange.

@ Oakley Design,

Very nice pack! You have made my sci-fi dreams come true! A sci-fi pack is what I really need, for my game.

I recommend making some "alien" themed stuff, like Halo: some static vehicles (sci-fi jeeps, trucks, tanks, hovercrafts, etc.); some sci-fi tables and chairs; some differently colored light entities; and some "weapons stations" (they say 'Weaponry' on them, and you place weapons inside). Those are just my ideas; you don't have to make them, but it would be some ideas.

This is Mad-Man. Copy Mad-Man into your sig so he can rule the FPSC boards. How to do it? }+:+)+the message after the smiley=domination!

ppl, I regret to announce a problem. I was half way through setting up the uv map in 3ds max when my old Unwrap UVW nemesis re-appeared
Basically everytime I now go to continue working on the uv mapping, the program crashes. I have had the problem before, have sent numerous messages to the technical assistance team and filed many error reports but still have no solution. So until this problem is fixed it may mean the end of this model pack (AND IT WAS GOING SO WELL!! )

@ Leaning Objects To The Side: I think you can figure out that my day is not going great. I also had a couple of exams today

I'll start a new model and see if it happens again, cos the other models so far were fine. Fingers crossed.

EDIT: Ignore this post I have solved the problem now

I got 3ds max ages ago, and its a student license which made it cheaper. Anyway I had Fireworks before I got 3DS MAX, how could I possibly buy anything else after spending all that $$$.

The student license is pretty cheap, but does it allow you to sell your work? Nice job on the sci-fi models so far.

I'm not the expert on 3DS Max but I thought version 9 just came out not too long ago.
I'm not accusing you of anything but you said you bought Max and even with a student license I know it's not cheap.
And if you were a student using 3DS Max wouldn't they have had some kind of texturing program to go with that?
Everybody's innocent until proven guilty around here but you have to admit a there are quite a few people that use Max around here and some of them get allowance from their parents...I don't see Mom and Dad forking over that kind of cash...
But that's another story...
Anyways...good luck with your model pack.

@ tyranno man: Theres nothing fishy about it I saw it ages ago and I was really keen to learn 3d (I couldnt get the hang of Blender). As I didnt have much money, my dad was very generous and he paid for most of it, so there.

Everyone else thanks for the comments

EDIT: I just saw page 2 It wasnt a HUGE amount (around £100 straight from Autodesk, not a reseller) Whats with the questions? I've done nothing wrong. I'll be gettin a job soon too so if he wanted I can pay him back. And when I say "I got it ages ago", I dont mean like years ago. I got 3ds max 9 very soon after it came out. Nothing but good timing.

The student edition is around 380 - 400 dollars, the same price as the student edition of PhotoShop. He certainly didn't get version 9 ages ago and the student version is supposedly only avaiable to higher education students. According to his website, he's not even now old enough to qualify.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

I was able to qualify. Just to make sure we contacted Autodesk directly and asked about who qualifies. As long as you are in full time education, you are eligible. Fact.

Oh I remember now. I was given the softare as a birthday present, and I was extremely grateful for it.

Anyway, can we plz just drop this and get back to the model pack. I have done ABSOLOUTELY NOTHING WRONG so can we move on?

And he purchased it for about 100 "POUNDS." I don't know much about conversion rates, but I know a real price when I see it.
