Here is a shot at a real game of mine. The story needs work and I can't really tell you it all now because that would kind of ruin the game. I haven't picked out a name yet for the character but something terrible happened to you and you can only remember blurry visions of a figure of a man and varying voices. You have been hurt really bad and you wake up in a bathroom. You don't even know what city your in or if you'll make it to the daylight. Strange things are happening and only dark magic could cause such horrbile things.

Screenshot attached of a freezer full of meat. What kind of meat? Let's not go there. Notice how the fog is. A trigger zone is placed so fog can only be on in the freezer room and no other.

Search- "Fog" in the forums and you'll find the script. I'll be sure to put his name in the credits.

I'm currently having a debate over chosen name change and the real name will be announced on launch. i've been working on level one recently and have got a good and dark screenshot for you guys.

It looks pretty good and your story line sounds pretty nice, but thats all I can really say, because in your screenshot, your not showing us too much. Without lightmaps, it looks bland. You want the freezer to be fairly creepy I'm guessing? Well what is scarier? A dark, foggy, freezer where you can only see dark images of meat? Or a dark, foggy freezer where you can see blood soaked meat and the feeling you are not alone?

actually, I'd go with the first. I think the freezer looks cool with the clinical look it has at the moment. What about some of those semi transparent curtains they have in meat factories?!

I fixed the fog ammount and that should help. Also I have new screenshots.

Stoopid, I messed around with it for you and by the way, my game isn't suppost to be lit well anyhow. But after looking at what I've done I'm trying to debate over the look but if I want an eerie feel to the game I might go with Butters. I mean with all that fog, youmight not see that guy with a chainsaw croutching behinf the meat reak.

Screenie attached of new freezer. If you would give me an opinion which one would go better then post a reply and the most famous one will earn the spot.

*Be aware there are also more freezers in the game so what you tell to me will effect the whole game.

After I'm done this should be the rating I will give this. But as I progress I might add some Mild Launguage as you find souls in peril screaming curse words at their attackers.

The entity placement makes it look a bit eerie, I'd however go with just a tiny bit of ambience, like 3-7, and a more turqoiseish fog, maybe a bleached turqoise color, so it looks cold.
Shows promise so far though, keep it up.

I have to agree with Roger Wilco. The second and third screenshots are too dark. I can't really tell what they are of. I really like the look of it though. It certainly would make me jump if I couldn't see in front of me and then all of the sudden, I'm dead.

The meat convayer room looks brighter in the game. Also the second screenie isn't real gameplay. It's a cut-scene type thing where nightmarish visons come to you. Will post more screenshot later. Also the rating I posted can only be posted in HTML. Sorry.

Also I'm conscidering naming the game Mentality. I've still not descided on freezer look at the moment.

Good news. Seeing how my game is very simple in its design, I have completed Level One with an exception of the final room. I have skipped Levl Two for the moment becaue it is going to be more complex and diffrent to Level One for a long shot. I have gotten halfway done with Level 3 and have descided to throw a maze into the game for a little puzzle element. Also like Half-Life I intend to use the "grabbing" feature to my best and lay things around you must move to get up to a high level per-say. Screenshots will be posted in a while. Also, I see no comments. Kind of makes me sad but I'm really picking up the pace here just for you guys!

Also I may have discovered a cleaver way to make a "being dragged away by something unseen" element. I placed Zombie Doctor and made him spawn and follow a staright waypoint about 2 squares long and gave him five seconds of life. I noticed he went to the end turned back then he slipped, fell, and slid away quite fast. I rolled on the floor laughing a few minutes because I made him bust his butt.
With minor tweaking I'm sure htis effect could be placed on an in-game victim.

I will be releasing a demo very soon. It will consist of two levels. I am thinking if I want to slap a price tag on it in the future but it is not looking so well for me. Anyways I will post link in near future

There is the link for the demo. I've tested it out and there is one known bug. *It may quit on you when you go to the second elevator.* I have noted this and am working to fix this and release version 1.1. Also the lighting turned out to dark for my liking so I'm working to patch this.

*A good 5 or 8 minutes is playable without possible termination of program.*
