Post your entries here for the 12th 3D modeling competition. Post your models by April 6th, so they can be voted on. Good luck!

Here is something I whipped up quick. I see it evolving into a boat that can fly in the air. I'll see if I can keep adding detail to it.

CC anyone?

Yeah just realised. My internet on my main comp was down so I couldn't post it. And I went on my laptop for the internet so I knew about the comp but didn't check this thread just the other one so.. I kinda done a air-boat and then I saw Bad Monkey's Air-boat but then I thought seeming as I put some time on it so I might aswell post it.

Technically, the compo ended April 5, so Bad Monkey was the only one who submitted a valid entry.

Here was my entry.
And yes, voting starts today, so models must be posted by today so users may start voting on them.

I vote for Deathead.

One thing though, what happened to these contests? They just seemed to die... I remember like a year ago or so when these contests were full of people and the voting part always was really exciting, but then everything seemed to die

I know its because now many of the good forumers have packed their bags and left and now its mainly new people.

I know for myself, Uni has been hotting up a heap, and I just don't have the time.

Also, the steampunk theme is too open I believe. Maybe Steampunk GUN or something.

Just my thoughts. Good effort Deathead.

I think for further competitions, I am going to moderate what subjects are picked. I knew from the beginning that users were having a problem figuring out what exactly to do, thus this would limit entries. The winner can still pick, but I might send them an e-mail with suggestions.

I wish I had more time to enter the contests but since there are no prizes or rewards to the winners I can't spare the time. Not saying I expect there to be prizes just saying I can't devote the time to it when I can be reimbursed for my time elsewhere. These are always fun... maybe I can make time in the next one...

I will see what I can do as far as reimbursements. I think the format of the competition would have to change a little bit however. For instance, I or some higher power would choose the themes(general enough to guarantees lots of entries). I think users can model whatever they like in there free time, so perhaps this is a little sacrifice.

I'd be throwing my rubbish modeling attempts into the competitions if I could, but my "work" computer is still dead, so I won't be in these again until I get one running and start practicing again

For the time being I remain that weird guy who stalks the 3D forum.

Oh, and I vote for Bad Monkey

I think that the title of the thread says [4/6-4/10]. It's still only 4/9

Congrats to Deathead!, he has won the competition. We're going to be doing something a little different for the next competition, so I would ask Deathead to please e-mail me(yellow1dbp at hotmail.com) before publicly posting the final competition idea.
