Hi guys I have ordered my new quad core PC which will be here shortly and have placed my order for the new FPS creator X10 and cant wait to get them.

While doing my games design course over the past year and a half I have took an interest in creating music as well using different DJ and software packages. They are all royalty free agreements and are created by me and I am allowing FPS creator users to use them in their games, cutscenes and menus if they so wish.

You may use them for free but are not allowed to charge anyone for them. If you sell a game with any of my music in it then thats ok as long as there is a link to my website in the credits and my name, thats all I ask.

Darkbasic users and people using the other tools from the gamecreators can also use the music if they wish in the same way.

Thanks,

Heres the link

No problem luke, thanks. As I will post on my website later on tonight (frontpage etc is on my laptop which I use to update my website & I am on normal PC at mo) I will be telling people of my next song I am working on.

Since I changed from using Ejay to produce the music I have bought FL Studio which is far more powerful. I forgot to say in the above message that if you are looking some music or sound clip for a game, let me know and I will see what I can do.

All I need is an idea of what kinda music your looking for in the sense of:

What kinda game is it for? E.G. Horror, Action, RPG etc

What kinda beat it should be? Fast, dancey, slow etc.

If theres anything I can do just let me know. I can convert them into .wav files or .mp3 and a few other file formats I am not 100% familiar with but those are the main 2.

Lata dude

Hazzman, indeed a very nice offer. I've been looking for background/ambience music of a horror nature. Anything along those lines would be much appreciated and file type doesn't matter. I can convert.

best.

Not a problem xplosys as tomorrow I am working on my next tune, I have decided I will create an extra area on my website specifically for FPS Creator sounds, and make each one I make available to everyone. I will probably be better to categorise them as well so this first section will be "Horror"

I think I have a synthesiser effect that could be looped throughout the game that I could make last about 30 secs per loop, which could create a dark sort of eerie effect constantly throughout that level.

I will try creating a variety of Horror style loops and post all of them I complete on my site and you can pick and download the one that you think fits your game best.

Keep an eye out xplosys I am updating my website in about 30 mins and will create the FPS creator sounds area in about an hour but with nothing in it of course, just as a layout of what it will look like.

I am in Northern Ireland here and I think most of yous are about 6 hours behind me (its 10.20 pm here) so this time tomorrow I should have some up.

all the best, cheers

hey nickydude yeah it took me about 4 or 5 days to finally get the hang of it spending about 3 hours a day at it its addictive experimenting and things with it, but your right it is hard to get used to.

A tip though is get a tune in your head and then pick a sound you like from the soundlist and use the piano roll function of that sound to create your melody. I know it sounds kinda stupid but I kinda hum in my head the tune each note, not out loud cause people in my house would think i am nuts if i started singing out loud or hummin lol, but you go one beat or note at a time until it sounds right the tune comin outta the speakers as the one in your head.

Just take it slow and it will come to you. once you have the melody yuo can then add the beat and everything and it will all come to you. I have to admit its a great program, I got fruity loops edition which one do you have? if you have any music on the go created with it, I love listening to music, send me a link in email so i can check it out.

Cheers.

Hey, are you trying to take over my life!? That's exactly what I do except I DO sing/hum/click out loud, especially when I walking somewhere. Sometimes I have some great tunes in the morning before work, but forget them by the time I get home.

You can check out some of my stuff here: http://www.indiegamedev.net/index.php?board=31.0, and here:http://www.indiegamedev.net/index.php?topic=612.0

Edit: I have FL Studio Producer Edition.

Music is very important to game play and I think some of this is great stuff for that. I have already downloaded two that have great possibilities. One I downloaded that had some vocal and that could possibly be used as a short clip in a certain situation but not used for background in game play; imho

yeah i think your right flatlander i would use music with vocals on mainly menus and stuff or when a game is in the loading screen and then just a tune in the background of the gameplay. I think it would sound kinda cheesey with singing in it when playing the level.

Unless it was likew a nightclub level or something like duke nukem had in its bars rave music and stuff playing in it when you walked into a certain area.

thanks coffee, not too familiar with ogg files what are they?

I am quite busy tonight however I am uploading as we speak some short music clips and samples into the Game FX and music section of my website. I have included some samples from the voice generator as well with some phrases I made up. If you want the voice generator to say something for you in a particular voice, simply email with what you want it to say. Maximum of about 10 words per phrase works best.

Check them out and see if you like them. I will be putting a table on th epage tomorrow for all the types of voices available and styles that go with them, along with sound samples of each one.

The links should be working in about 30-40 mins when i finish uploading and sorting some stuff.

@Xplosys try the kinda synth I tried in the horror section for you its a short clip about 30 seconds I think but hopefully you can use it somewhere in your game.

Lata dudes, if I am bored later or get a break I will work on some more and upload them tonight as well, I usually stay up quite late anyway.

hey just before i head to bed i made another tune in Ejay dance 7, its called "Beat to the pulp", its got the same beat the whole way through it and some light synthesiser sounds in teh background so its good if you just want some background music like to a menu or something, I guess in some games it could be used as background music but you will have to listen to find out. I will post it tomorrow morning as my laptop battery is charging and I am knackered lol, nite nite.

Hi guys me again, I will be working on a few more tunes this mornin when I wake up again, I haven't been to bed yet but I am going now as its 2am lol late night, but I will be working on some more tunes for you to use in your games hopefully another 3 at least using dance ejay 7 again. I will be trying to make a few more in fruityloops when I have the time only it takes a lot longer (a week or few days) to make a decent song) whereas in ejay it can take only half an hour or an hour to make a good beat and rhythm.

Keep an eye out tomorrow as I get them completed I will upload each one. There are currently 19 songs at present you can use in your games feel free to download them.

Cheers

Another new song added today to the list is called "Words of Wisdom". It is a fairly rhythmatic beat to it the whole way through it and doesnt stop at any point in the song, it goes right to the end maintaining the beat to it.

I will be posting a song every day until Sunday night when I will be finished my new multiplayer map for FPS Creator X10 called "Infiltration" which will be available around midnight sunday GMT time.

Thanks

Hey Hazzman, thanks for this! I usually look for action music of the fast and slow variety. Dance doesn't work for me in games, thanks! Rock is a good genre for many games (horror, action) and slow/classical rock is good for rpgs too.

One more new tune added guys its called "The Groove Is Terminated".

Instead of using Techno Ejay 6 I thought I make another one from Dance 7 and when browsing the sound clips I found a very cool tune that sounded like the terminator theme tune.

Feel free as usual to use it in any vids or games your creating if you like. There is also a video dedicated to some cool scenes in the film I took screenshots of and some wallpapers off other sites giving them away for free.

Enjoy have another tune soon at some point.

Hi guys I have added another tune slightly longer than some of the more recent stuff I have been doing and is called "Disco Fever". Again as many people requested there are no words to this song or anyone singing in the tune.

It lasts around 2 mins 45 seconds and is good for looping back around as well or as background music for a menu or something or when the game is paused.

Cheers

Hi guys I am just updating my website this week with a far more easier to navigate and much more brighter and appealing template.

I know last time it went down people emailed about music links not working but if you can please be patient I will have it fully up and running again through the week around Thursday.

There will be some new features and 3rd party games you may notice as well which can be played through your browser, also for free.

I will be making another new track at some point this week. not sure on the title but it may be on a new ejay I have ordered which is the R & B version. Hopefully this will give games a bit of a gangsta theme to them for some levels depending on what models etc your using in your games.

Lata, till Thursday.
