Ok folks, heres my first finished character, rigged to the standard fpsc skeleton plus one custom animation for the slashing (script is included). I also made a "Zombiewalk" for him but unfortunately instead of following you around he gets stuck and walks in place so the standard walk has to do it. heck, it's for free!

first some screenies:

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

Looks more like a semi-transformed werewolf or hunchback, but that gives it even more of a horrific mutated feel.....

Great job....

after reading some threads around here I realized that "Zombie" has some very tight definitions, so i assume it is just a fat guy with an ill teint that slashes you lefthanded 'til you're dead

have fun with him! (at least he has a torn shirt, isn't that zombie fashion?)

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

Wicked! I love the originality (and lack of gore).

He's kind of horrific. Like some retarded man-child who'd beat the baby sitter to death for standing on his Lego all the while moaning

"Cindy I loved you, why? WHY? WHHHHYYYYY".

and then his mother would burst in and be like:

"Horrace, what on earth is going on here?! Tuck your shirt in! Oh... Good heavens! You've killed Miss Cindy to death!"

Yeah, I love it. Nice one.

This'd be great if it were scripted like the boomers in left 4 dead. It just looks like it's ready to hurl......

god damn I hate boomers, its really bad when a smoker pulls you in you get stuck on a group of ten zombies, and then a boomer pukes on you... try that out

Heres the texture in .tga format, just edit the .fpe so it points to .tga instead of .dds (you can revert that when you had him compiled and FPSC has made a .dds for you)

edit
Nevermind I just looked at the texture and the UV's are all over the place, it would be hard to retexture, still a great job you did!

What software did you use to make the model and auto uv map?

model was done in sketchup, based on a mesh that i decaptivated and reworked the head as well as some minor changes to the rest of the body, texture was done in Blacksmith paint3d (that is why the uv looks so barfed out).
Anyway it was an experiment and I still got miles to go to make a decent character

It is one of the greatest lowpoly modellers I ever used-easy to handle and with a great set of helpers. It only lacks a decent uv mapping feature.

I didn't know you can do stuff like that in sketch up. Well the next time you can make your uv map in uvmapper classic (freeware) or any program that you want that makes uvmaps, then it will carried into blacksmith paint3d, so it doesn't look like it was barfed out, so you edit it in photoshop or gimp or something.
