Here's a project I've been wanting to do forever. There will be around 25 models in the pack, all related to the "Aliens" films. The pack is almost finished. I plan to release it as a "non-commercial use only" fan pack. Licence will be included with the download. All these have been tested in FPSC (as always), and work fine.

The shots in the spashscreen are of the actual Milkshape models.

I will post more screens as I have them. C&C always welcome. I'm hoping "Henry Ham" can get his Pulse Rifle ready soon. Hint, Hint....!

In the Universe, nothing ever stays the same.

I've been lucky enough to see an earlier version of the APC in game and it looked sick. Can't wait to see the rest

Cool! I guess I will state the obvious before someone else does. The ship in the top left of the pic looks like a, yep you guessed it, pelican from Halo. Nice job with these models!

I have a character to go with the pack, but wont have the time to get it ready before the release of the pack. Would someone like to help out with the rigging, animating of the character? Slashing attacks preffered.

Darmic: Yeah, I remapped the model, retextured it, tweaked it a little, and want to rig it to a different skeleton. This character needs a rig that has good slashing attacks, and perhaps even a custom running animation to act properly. It just does'nt work if it carries a weapon. Want to give it a shot?

All who contribute, will of coarse be credited for they're work. I've got a lot of hours in this project, and hope everyone will enjoy it when it's released.

It will of coarse be "FREE" for all who want it.

This is the first model pack of a series of packs that will feature Hollywood films.

The list so far;

1. Aliens ( Almost done)!

2. Bladerunner(Planning stage).

3. Star Trek the series (Old and New). (In progress- about half done).

4. Resident Evil ( in progress - about 1/4 done).

5. Starship Troopers (Planning stage).

If anyone would like to contribute they're talants to the creation of any of these projects, let me know.

In the Universe, nothing ever stays the same.

Wow, one of my favorite films, check out angelhearts maps for ut3/4k, would love to see some BR stuff in fpsc.

The aliens stuff will go great with one of my skyboxes, I made it based on the aliens film

bigger.
http://www.avantivitastudios.com/slideshow/p013_0_15.jpg

Infact angelheart made a map for that, I think it was UT map, the first one not ut3 or 4k, so again that would be awesome to make Aliens maps in FPSC.

Fallen one: Your totally right. That skybox would make for a great aliens atmosphere. Purhaps if you feel generous you might want to contribute a skybox to the pack.

Quote: "that would be awesome to make Aliens maps in FPSC."

I totally agree once again. I'm including most of the main film based entities one would need to make believable Aliens based levels, and trying hard to be as acurate as possible. there will also be a few custom segments included to accuratly build colony hallways, and a few other surprises.

For those who want a "Pedator" in They're levels, Crow34 released the Predator for FPSC a while back. Here's the link:

http://files.filefront.com/predatorrar/;4941881;/fileinfo.html

I'm pretty sure all of you Aliens fans will not be dissapointed!

Oh, ok. I would recommend just getting someone to change a few of the animations to slashing and stuff, then you won't have to completely re-rig it.

Whoa! This is awesome! It's a shame it can't be used for commercial though, how could I make it commercially usable? I.e., what ediits would I have to make to the designs, etc.....

@ZackS28

Bungie admittedly got alot of inspiration from Aliens and Starship Troopers in their designs. The Pelican looks awesome IMO....

you cant because its copyrighted material, if you had a license from the copywrite holder you can sell, but would then need permision from the fpsc pack makers as well.

Here's the Colony Marine character I've built for the pack. Still have some tweaking to do on the textures. Poly count is 2338. This is probably my best character so far. If I can get it rigged soon, I can include it in the pack. I've still got a bit of work on the rest of the pack yet to go.

I don't want to be the one that points the finger, but your drop ship thing looks alot like a mod of Acid Flame's drop ship:

http://www.turbosquid.com/Search/Artists/Acid_Flame

Other than that, excellent work. I like the colony marine, although elements like the helmet, shoulderpads, shin guards etc look like they've been tacked onto another model. This is probably adding a bunch of un-needed polys to the mesh. you should delete the extra faces and weld them to the character mesh.

cool though

Butter fingers: Thanks for the C&C. I checked out the dropship you pointed out, Wow, that's awesome. Mine is no where near that good! That one looks different from the one in the film though.

I modeled mine after the "Halcyon Aliens Dropship" plastic model kit. I had to ommit a lot of detail to keep the poly count down, but I think it came out O.K.

Fallen one: Sure did, and it's beutiful! As soon as all the models are finised, I'll be setting up some in-game scenes for my screenshots. I think this will look fantastic!

I'll send you the screenshots when they're done, before posting them here.

Again Thank You.

No problem Benny Boy 2321. I've been using Milkshape 3d for about a year now, But I've just bought Carrara 6, and I'll be making the transition to that program as I learn more about using it.

Hes not making them for commercial use only for hobby fan games.

Also, I would love to see a Stargate SG1 or Atlantis pack that would be another awesome pack to add to the list

POK: Sure, here's a shot of the Enterprise engine room from the original series.

The star trek series will be in 2 parts. The original series, and the next generation series.

I'm using both ST Technical manuals for the floor plans, etc.

SamHH: POK is correct, as long as I don't sell the packs for proffit, and distribute the games for free, I'm not in violation of the copyrights. These are for fun, not for proffit.

SammHH: No pain my friend, not everyone who owns FPSC is out to make money. Some of us just like to build, and share our games just for the fun of it. Why do you think I give all my stuff away for free? I'm not doing this for proffit. I'm wanting to make game recourses for games I would like to play.

Violent Pigeon: That is a really good idea. Some of Bond's egyption characters would work well in a game like that.

I have been knocking around the idea for "The Terminator" though.
