The SIG552 doesn't look half bad, good work!
Could use a little more work but looks good anyway!

please post as JPEG, there is minimal quality loss, and it is good for people with slow internet connections. even though i got 8mbit, it takes about 2 minutes for the screens to download.

anyway, great work! looking forward to seeing more

thanks

BTW i just learned how to do entity pickups, so all the previously posted weapons now come with entity pickups. So you dont have to use them by having them as your starting gun

Ahah oh apple i havnt seen you on recently, than again the timezones throw us off even tho its an hour or two difference. Well honestly it wasnt that hard to learn. My first day was spent finding tuts on modeling. 2nd was animating and so i began a ump project. I already knew texturing so i got to a fast start. Within 2 days i had a working ump. 4th and 5th day were spent finding a good model or two to further progress my learning and skill perfection. Thats where the lovely sig and mark23 models come into play. Yeah i didnt model em but i saw how the author made em, and i also textured and animated for the fun of it. Even added a scope Now i think im really good, and this aks is gonna be sick

So I already modelled and textured the AKS but have not animated it yet. I have also started to work on a psg1. Sneak pic of it is attached BTW as you can see i am using the pic of it as reference to model it as well as a temp texture. Once the modelling phase is finished the gun will recieve a new look.

Okay well im going to take a break from modelling for a bit. But when i get back into it expect HIGH poly nice looking models, with actual great working animations. I guess you can consider these as practice and an opening gift to the tgc forums. Well more to come

Personally, I think you have had enough cardboard cut-out practice. I think you should have a go at modelling a weapon from scratch, without drawing round a texture. Same with the texture. Instead of using a modified reference picture, try making it from scratch.

Then you'll know how hard EAI works on his weapons.. Enough to blow my top, anyway.

Aaagreen has a point, people judge weapon models on detail, how correct it looks and creativity, using a picture and putting it on the side doesn't take much skill, whilst people like EAI use their skill to reproduce a real guns texture, having said that i believe they are still a good contribution.

Thx Asteric.

Aaagreen that is why it is 92% modelling. Yeah i take a look at a picture for reference, but once im done modelling the "cardboard part" Ill begin to model in little details and change the scale of parts in the gun to make it look better. Once im done that i begin to make a custom texture like i did for my previous guns. Yeah i know how hard errant works but remember I've only been doing this stuff for about a month now, for a total of about 8 hours actually doing it.

The stock on the K1A looks to be a bit too long, but it looks alright otherwise.

This is how long it should be. http://www.personaldefenceweapons.com/similar_weapons/too_short_carbines/daewoo_k1a.jpg

I think the low-quality weapons (no offence meant!)could be of really good use if you dont design them for player use but for character use or simply static entities - in these cases the texture and 3d appearance wouldnt mean so much

Model Pack 1 Attached!

Contains:
-Sig552 (noscope + scoped)
-Aks
-M4a1
-UMP
-PSG1
-Mark23

As you can see I released a model pack, consisting of already released media. I will begin to do this from here on. Except for the already released part. From here on I will not be releasing gun by gun, for it just clogs the thread with posts, and attachments. Instead I will create 3 - 4 guns from the same genre and release em as a pack.

I think they are pretty darn good for a n00b (no offense. Obviously they could use some work, but they are really good for your first guns. (I know I couldn't do better)

K I am going to continue modelling, but for now I am going to take a break from it all. Soon I will create a new thread purely for guns. I will re-release this model pack and the m4 as its own model pack too. Than i will begin to release model packs with new guns for example. Model Pack 1:WW2 So mods feel free to lock this thread. For those who actually enjoyed these weapons, look forward to my next thread, which will come soon enough with past and new guns.
