Hi,

I've been requested many times to show people how I produce the pop-up messages found in my games.

I've finished adding the last touches to my video and have uploaded it, the audio turned out a little on the load side however, so be careful headphone users.

The tutorial kicks off by providing you with a working example out of the box and shows you how to intsall it.

The video takes the top spot on creativefail.com, the files are also in the Creative Fail download section.

Let me know how it works for you

Cheers people

Hmm well i could attempt some on level design but it's a tricky subject to cover, it's not as straight forward as getting a script to work.

Even tho I already know how to do this i watched it anyways, and i must say its a great tut, for pros and beginners. Heck I almost forgot about displaying messages with huds in game since i got so used to using simple huds saying transmission and having an audio file with a message play

I have a question and I hope someone here can help me find the bug.

I simplified the script quite a bit and ended up with this:

My objective is to make a script for a trigger zone that shows an image on screen and plays a sound at the same time. The problem is that the sound plays when I leave the trigger zone - not when I enter it. Does anyone know how to change my script to achieve the right effect?

Yes, and I have tried moving stuff around and changing a lot of it but it just won't work as intended. I hope someone can see the problem.

Why dont you try putting a trigger zone and a sound zone in the same place, then have the sound zone play your message?? Then you could change the script for the HUD to fade out at the same time that the sound ends by changing the timergreater=.

Just a suggestion realy....
