A nice beach wave effect.
A combination of model, texture, and shader.
The model is twisted and folded back on itself so the texture scrolls across the surface and creates a wash in and out effect.
These can be laid side by side to create a long wave.
I have included a small stretch of beach terrain to go with it, ensure the wave model sits above this so the wash out is seen.
Free to use as you wish.
Just drop the wave folder into your entitybank.

*Updated the download, should now work with mods

Wave in

Wave out

This sits nicely with the sewer and sea foam effect I released a little while back it can be found in this thread.

Just open the sewer foams entity fpe and change the scale to 300 so its a bit bigger and covers more area, sit it behind the waves so it breaks up the surface of your water...

Thanks a lot for this man, your work is always appreciated and adds a lot to FPSC in little ways. Have a great day

I was wondering, Rolfy, if you ever planned on releasing a pack of your characters for purchase? I know through Eldora you've produced some awesome and highly unique creatures, with superb quality - any chance of those ever being released? Just curious

Cheers

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

Most welcome.
Braden, I have no immediate plans to create another model pack right away, have just approached TGC about opening a store account, we'll see how it goes from there

That would be sweet man, I dare say it would be time to load up my store account again with points if you started releasing some of your stuff on there

Cheers

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

Nope, it's just a high quality skybox.
This is some amazing stuff you've released lately Rolfy. It is very much appreciated.

Hey Rolfy I am not able to get either your beach wave or sewer foam to work. I have full shader effects turned on and high quality. I loaded up the metro theater showcase and had no issue with the water effects.. but see the attached screenshot.. both these effects come up white like the texture is missing. I checked the .fpe's and didn't rename anything so they should be good?

You could try entering the path to texture into the entity fpe manually, I found this shader worked better if the model picked up the texture, but sometimes it works when you put the texture path in there.

for example
textured = entitybank\wave\wave2b.tga
textured = entitybank\foamfx\foam4b_D2.tga

Does the texture show in editor?
Are you using a mod?

I can also confirm that the wave is untextured in PB V1.18.

Updated the download, should now work fine, delete the wave folder in entitybank and replace with new download.
If you delete the bin and dbo files for any reason you may have to put the ones from the rar back in.
For some strange reason the bin and dbo's created in v1.16 seem to resolve issues with mods which run with this version.
Thanks to s4 for fixing this
Go figure

I can confirm that it does now work in PB... sort of. The texture looked as it should with the first test game, but any test after that and the texture looks like the one attached.

Maybe just replace the bin and dbo files from the rar after a final build for now, will have s4 take another look.

Just do like Rolfy said and do this:

textured = entitybank\wave\wave2b.tga
That is all you needed and to delete the bin and dbo files. Also for whatever reason you have to shutdown the map editor and restart it.
