Yeah, that first level takes place pretty much immediately after the nuke goes off, so I just figured it should be burn-your-eyes-out.
And why Canada? Even though I'm American and could've used SEALs or something, Canada's under-used imo. And besides, I like Canada a lot

Loading bar(edited original)
I wanted it to look trashy, I guess you could say. So no, it wasn't "Here. This looks cool, but I'm too lazy to fill the whole bar."

Well, seeing as though no one has posted anything- good or bad- for a while...this will be the last screenshot and I will stop working on Rads if no one says anything. I just don't want to do all this work and have no one to at least say "This looks pretty good. You may want to work on lighting that area in the second screen. It looks a little artificial."

Hey man, only just noticed this so forgive me for not posting in here before. I don't really check the work in progress boards much! Its looking really good man, im just downloading level one so i'll give you a review of that when im done!

By the looks of thingsyou are getting lots done which is good, and the fact that you have perserved shows that you really want to finish this so I wouldnt stop just because no one has taken the time to tell you about it.

Keep in there buddy! It will be worth it!

Thanks man. Sorry if your eyes fall out from level one...like I said before it's pretty much immediately after the nuke goes off. I might finish the obstacle course soon, so then I'd make a .exe of level one and the obstacle course. And also, if you get stuck after you open the door, just go back and cut through the middle of the room. And last but not least, constructive criticism would be much appreciated!

Ok so my playing was cut short due to the fact the door at the end of the hall at the start doesnt open? it just says press enter to open and wont open.

So I can't really comment on the level as a whole although I did get the impression that a nuke had just gone off.

I would also increase the player speed as I felt like I was moving too slowly if im honest!

Hope you get the demo fixed buddy!

As for constructive crits on the screens, I would see about adding some more to the levels, it sort of looks a bit bland at the moment, for example the riffle range looks like a very random place that has no background scenery, try adding some buildings to the background or using a different skybox. The lighing seems good and your entitiy placement is ok but I still feel the levels are lacking in things to look at. Again I can't really comment without playing it to be honest.

Hope all this helps!

Aw, crap. Sorry. Forgot to change the HUD to "Press F." Yeah, I agree the rifle range looks pretty awful. I'm scrapping that entire level(the entire 2 minutes =P). And I was thinking have the ranges at the end of the obstacle course. Sorry 'bout the door not opening again. Heh. Except one thing I have to say at(I'm not mad, just my opinion on this):
Quote: "I would also increase the player speed as I felt like I was moving too slowly if im honest! "

I just thought that since you're a survivor of the nuke and your hands looks that bad, you should move slowly 'cause you're barely hanging on to life.
Again, not mad, not meant to be rude. Just my opinion on that matter.

Thanks for the CC for the screenies, and testing the level!

Well with regards to the level, I couldnt really see where I was going, and I get thats the effect you were going for but there was also no explanation as to why its so radioactive. Also I didn't really know where to go so I would add an objective to the level, like a specific thing you have to go do.

Also maybe the new screenie is a bit dark...well for my taste anyway!

Aah, well as to the no explanation... since it was just mainly a test, I didn't do anything special. But I understand where you're coming from completely. I was eventually going to find some sort of nuke or nuke footage for an opening cutscene or something, but I didn't know if anything was copyrighted with nukes.(I plan to sell the game for $1.99 or so, maybe $.99) I think that's 1 or 0.5 Pounds. I think the objective is a great idea. Maybe for the opening cutscene I could have an explanation as to why the guy is there(I was thinking going to work, maybe, maybe not; seeing as though I never thought about that before) and then the nuke going off. I've got Sony Vegas, so I could make a green backdrop, have the guy look out the window(with a city background), then the nuke going off? Sounds good imo.

Quote: "Also maybe the new screenie is a bit dark...well for my taste anyway!"
Yes, I agree. Unfortunately, the ambience is pretty low(2 I think), so I might not be able to make that brighter. Well, then again, I did use a dark blue for the lights. I'll go make a lighter blue, maybe cyan-ish, then I'll report back

Okay, well...took longer than just going and changing some lights(I got distracted by COD4). But, here it(the last screenie) is with a much lighter blue. I think it looks better with the darker lights, but eh...you can decide.

Here is a new shiny screenie of a cutscene set. Yes, it is dark. Yes, fog is very close. It's supposed to be crazy dark for a scary feel.
Edit: Should I attach it? It stretches my browser a little bit after looking at it. Meh, I'll attach it.

Sorry to double post, but the model packs on your website (@ Dr. Parsnips), are they all for commercial and non-commercial, or is the office pack only commercial? I'm mainly interested in the ruins, as I could use all the ruins 'n stuff I can get. But I'm also interested in the urban and office pack. If it's only the office for commercial use, how much would you charge per pack for commercial for the urban/ruins?

I've found new inspiration to continue making this game. I almost let it die until i saw this: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=167119&b=21&p=0 I figured if this guy can get sales with stock FPSC(with a price of $10!) then I can sell this for $2. So I am continuing this game and expect to see a lot more screenies and such around here.

Not just two, but seven posts in a row. Jesus christ.

Try posting more media instead of just telling us about it. People only tend to post if there's something interesting to see.

@Aaagreen

Well, I was posting a pic of a little thing I made with Dr. Parsnips's pack, telling him how nice it was. Then I posted a retexture. I posted a thread everyone should see... Then I posted the rating from TIGRS. Then I told everyone I couldn't post anything new til today. Then I said I would at least like someone to say something about the game 'cause I was losing interest(you didn't help at all). You CAN post more than one post in a row if you have some screenies, or telling everyone your PC crashed. And I've seen people post more than 3 times in a row just to ask for comments.

In other words, flaming someone doesn't make them want to continue working on a game. Don't the rules say only constructive posts?

Heya comrade, looks great so far! I would suggest for level 2 to make those guys spread out instead of one giant circle, once they all see you they will spam you to no end with their guns. You would have no chance! lol. Other than that looks awesome!
