What does it do?
FPSC Windowed Mode allows you to play your games in a window rather than fullscreen. You can also customise the settings such as window text, icon, size and minimising/maximising (more below).
It has been tested with the Stock FPSC exe but I've been unable to test it with mods yet (other than Horror Mod), so you guys will have to let me know how it goes with those

Customisation:
Here's a list of all customisable settings:

The game doesn't go into window mode, it stays fullscreen, what do I do?
Try changing the 'EmbedDelay=X' line in the 'windowed.txt' file to a higher value. This is usually because it's trying to change the game window before it's ready.
I can't guarantee it will work for everyone but there's a good chance it will.

What is 'trapmouse=True' for?
At the moment when you go to the loadgame menu the cursor gets stuck outside the window so the only way to combat this (until I find a fix ) is to 'trap' the mouse inside the window.
If you don't have loading and saving in your game then you can set it to False.

Can I use this with FPSC X10?
Unfortunately the X10 window doesn't like having it's screen resolution changed after launch so, no, you can't use this with X10.

I hope some of you find it useful,
knxrb

Interesting. This should definitely increase performance due to the loss of resolution. Thank you knxrb!

I have no idea as I don't have X10 to test it with although it technically should do as it doesn't modify any files.

lol I have a weird bug. When I run the window mod.exe it runs my game full screen, then deleted the .exe lol! I am posting a screen.

**Edit**

nvm it just changes location, I found something you may want to see however. New screen attached

Hmm, interesting, thanks for pointing that out
Got a couple of things for you to try:
1. Put the FPSC-Game.exe file into the 'Files' folder.
2. Change the executable line in the 'windowed.txt' folder to: executable=Files\FPSC-Game.exe.
3. Try running that and tell me what it does .

And a couple of questions:
What screen resolution is set in the setup.ini file?
What FPSC version is it? X9, X10 or is it a mod??

Running FPSC x10 V1.11 with no mod (until mystic gets air mod) for now . Screen resolution seems to fit mine, 1680-1050. I think the resolution for x10 is locked. Budokaiman was having trouble with x10's resolution. It does not seem to change one bit. Did all that, still got the same thing.

Ok, thanks for the information.
I've attempted a fix for you but without having an X10 exe it's difficult to know if it'll work or not:

Nope, just distorted like before. The x10 source is on the front page of x10's web site if you need a x10 .exe

Ok, I'm attempting to compile the X10 source now so if I get no errors I should be able to attempt a fix

[Edit] The source code won't compile so I'm unable to attempt another fix at the moment.
The only other method I can think of is if I use a released X10 game.

I will send you a beta to my game. Or I can send you the FPSC-Game for x10. I don't see why it would be a problem since you can get it for free from the source code.

I would imagine that wouldn't go against any licencing but just to be on the safe side it'd be best if you sent a completed game. Then you're not giving out sections of the software to me.

[Edit] I'm downloading it now

[Edit] For some reason unknown to me the X10 window doesn't like having it's resolution changed
So I'm afraid I'm going to have to admit defeat on that and say it's for X9 only

Just a note on this, incase anyone is confused about licensing and infringments and all that jazz.

If you are talking true legalities, not some kind of made up "OMG you sent him a file!" infringment.

If you have a license for "said file", you can send anyone, any piece of any file. It is the intent behind sharing a file that causes legal issues. For instance, If you send someone a file for help in modification, this is fine. If you send someone "said file" with intention of redistribution, unless allowable in the original license, then no this is not ok.
