FPSC IP v4.1 - Created by Robert Knox (knxrb)
main.fpscip.com - dev.fpscip.com - source.fpscip.com

What is FPSC IP v4.1?
FPSC IP v4.1 is a program and source mod designed to upgrade and expand the standard FPSC multiplayer to make your games even better.
It is fully customisable and there are no pop-ups, logos or watermarks! You can use it in both commercial and non-commercial games.

What does it do?
FPSC IP v4.1 has loads of cool new features, here's a list of just some of the biggest and best features:

Achievements
Similar to the Xbox Live achievements system, this allows players to unlock achievements after completing specific objectives, such as getting a specific number of kills, in your multiplayer levels.

Kill Based Ranking System
Your players can level up and gain a higher rank the more they play your games.
Rank images are fully customisable per game and are shown on the leaderboards and in-game lobbies.

Signature Pictures
Let your players boast about their scores and kills with automatically generated signature pictures that can be used on forums and other websites.

Fully customisable game menus
Customise your game menus with videos and music support.
Show splash screen videos, credits videos, play music and more.
Full drag and drop support is also used to allow you to choose where you want the content!

FPSC X9 & FPSC X10 Support
FPSC IP supports both FPSC X9 and FPSC X10 games, you can even mix and match them, having some X9 levels and some X10 levels in the same final game!

Windowed Mode
Your games can now be played in full windowed mode or you can embed it onto the FPSC IP window and add borders and logos around the edge!

Dedicated Databases
Game developers can now choose to have a database dedicated to their game, this provides better speeds and faster connections.

Game File Hosting
Don't have anywhere to host your game files for your players to install and play?
Direct link downloads is now a new feature in FPSC IP v4.1!

Online Leaderboards
Show leaderboards for your games on your own website using the leaderboard system.
Everything is done for you so you only have to put the embedding code on your webpage and you're done!

Stat Tracking
Track your players total kills, highest killstreak, total deaths, total suicides AND how many kills they got with each gun! Achievements can then be unlocked if the player achieves a specific target with their stats.

Lobby & Chat Features
Full lobby system with chat support for your players to wait in before starting the game.

Multi-Level Features
You can now have an unlimited number of multiplayer levels in your game, this includes FPSC X9 and FPSC X10 levels!

Where do I get FPSC IP v4.1?
You can purchase your copy of FPSC IP v4.1 from the FPSC IP Developers website: dev.fpscip.com.
Buy your copy today and get a FREE game build code worth £5.99 GBP!

How much is FPSC IP v4.1?
A single licence key for FPSC IP v4.1 costs just £9.99 GBP!
With that licence key you also get a game build code for your first game absolutely free!
If you wish to purchase additonal game build codes then you can get them for the low price of £5.99 GBP each.

Payment is accepted using the following methods:
PayPal (Instant), AlertPay (Instant), MoneyGram* and Western Union*.

* Moneygram and Western Union payments have been temporarily disabled.

Where do I contact you about FPSC IP v4.1?
If you wish to get in contact with me about FPSC IP v4.1 then you can use the support site: support.fpscip.com.

Where can I get the FPSC IP mod source code?
If you are an FPSC modder and you wish to add support for FPSC IP v4.1 into your mod then you can download the source code at the source website: source.fpscip.com.

After building my game with FPSC IP it takes me to the normal FPSC multiplayer menu. How do I fix this?
To go straight from FPSC IP into playing the game you need to use a modification of the source code that has FPSC IP support in it.
To my knowledge Wasp Mod and Project Blue both have this.

Visit the FPSC IP v4.1 website for more details, main.fpscip.com.

Thanks to all of the beta testers for helping to test FPSC IP and iron out all** of the bugs before release.
Also thanks to: the quay, s4real, red eye and str8upchaldo12 for being patient and listening to me babble on about FPSC IP as I worked on it

**I hope

My only question is, why do I have to type in a Pay pal email address, when I want to use my credit card? I don't have a pay pal account, I hate them lol.

If you don't want to use PayPal then you have a choice of using MoneyGram or Western Union to send payment.
Select one of those on the registration page and then after you're account has been created you will be able to send a purchase request.

The payment is then discussed and sorted out between myself and the game developer.

Purchased

I'm a little confused with the upgrades, as it says "to purchase and upgrade submit an upgrade request below" type of thing, yet there is nothing below

I was kind of expecting the old tick this and that approach when purchasing. Anyway I want all the upgrades, if you can bill me via paypal please.

Alright, but say a user 'buys' a weapon on an 'item store'. How would he get to use it in the game and how would others see him using it?

Knxrb has said that in FPSC IP 4.1 there will be an item shop like in combat arms ect. He also said there might be a clan system among various other things, so we will have to wait till the next update comes a long.

I've got that covered
It'd use small 'update' files that contain the required files and FPSC IP would apply the update in the correct files to unlock it.

Quote: "can you create a video for it"

Yes, what would you like to see in the video?
The build process? A working lobby & chat?

It's on the FPSC IP Developers site dev.fpscip.com

sorry for the double post but if you would like to make a small multiplayer map with these features maybe we can test them. I don't know how to get rid of the annoying "waiting to join" error.

I've been looking forward to this, knxrb. Great accomplishment. Before I place my order, I want to ask if this program addresses the port forwarding issue (i.e not being able to host on a router without a special setup). Sometimes, even with port forwarding, users still cannot host. Did you come up with any workaround for this?

I also wanted to ask about the game build code. Does this mean that we can only publish one game with the program before we need to purchase another code to make another one? If so, what will this mean for future downloadable content/maps?

Quote: "I want to ask if this program addresses the port forwarding issue"

Unfortunately at the resent time my answer to this is no, it doesn't I've attempted several fixes but each one failed due to one thing or another.
I have got a plan though but I need to talk with Lee about it first before I can say anything on the forums.

For now, just make sure that port 2303 is forwarded for UDP traffic and that all firewalls are allowing access in both directions.

Quote: "Does this mean that we can only publish one game with the program before we need to purchase another code "

Yes, one game per build code, each build code is £5.99 GBP. You get your first build code free when you buy the program.

Quote: "what will this mean for future downloadable content/maps?"

An 'expansion pack' addon is in the works which will allow small updates such as adding more levels, characters and guns to pre-built games. The build codes for these will cost less than normal build codes, or I may have this as free.

I think you misunderstood me. I meant how would the content be accessed. Would the guns/armor be downloaded or 'unlocked' within the actual game? Because if they're downloaded, then other users won't be able to see or use what someone else downloaded, or have to download it themselves

The FPSC IP system would handle all downloads and installations of the updates/bought content.
Everything is encrypted and linked to the web databases as well via accounts, so if one user hasn't bought it then they can't use it simply by copying the files.

Quote: "Would the guns/armor be downloaded or 'unlocked' within the actual game?"

Yes, they would become available within the game.

That's a shame. I've never been able to host a multiplayer map before, regardless of port forwarding (I've had to rely on a friend to host in order to play). Hopefully you and Lee will be able to come up with something, because I believe the port forwarding issue is one of the main concerns that are keeping developers from working on multiplayer games (it's one of mine, at least).

Quote: "Yes, one game per build code, each build code is £5.99 GBP."

Seems more than fair considering the amount of work you've put into the software. However, it may become a nusience to developers, given FPS Creator's build issues. What happens if someone tries to build a game and the process fails (as is common with FPSC)? Does it only use your build code after the game is successfully compiled? Or will developers need to contact you for a new code each time their build fails?

What happens if a developer builds a game but forgets to include a map, or there are various errors in the compiled game that need tweaking? Will he have to buy another code to correct these mistakes, or contact you to reset his code, etc?

@Kravenwolf: The build process is as follows;

Game developer builds the levels that he wants in final game as separate FPSC games. Each one will become a single level in the FPSC IP game.
Once all are built and ready, the game developer adds each level one by one to the level list in the FPSC IP Studio program by selecting the folders.
Then the game developer starts the FPSC IP build using the FPSC IP Studio application, this merges it all and does what it needs to do and produces the result in a pre-selected folder.

The build codes are used only when you do a final build in the FPSC IP Studio program.

Quote: "What happens if a developer builds a game but forgets to include a map, or there are various errors in the compiled game that need tweaking? "

There are two types of FPSC IP builds: Final and Test.
Final is for when you are 100% happy to complete build the game for release. The build code is used up with final builds.
Test build lets the game developer build it all just like as a final build, but the build code isn't used up.
It allows the game dev to view the final product and check it before doing a final build.

In the eventuality that a final build fails to complete, then the build code is not used up.

No, the licence key is the licence key and the game code is the game code.
In the email confirming your purchase you will receive two codes.
Use the first one, the licence key, to activate your copy of the program.
The second code is used to build your game.
