Looks like garbage.

I'm sorry, someone has to say that crappy pun in every junkyark related thread...

It looks really awesome.

This is inspiring. I want to make somethng like this with Source's 3d skybox system. (in real time, of course)

That's a LOT of tyres. I'm seeing a lot of clipping too.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

It's a pity it's skyboxes not hemispheres... :/

You could convert these to hemispheres in about 2 minutes if that is what your engine requires. Just assign to a cube with reversed normals, then add some geo to turn it into a sphere. Then you'll have a hemisphere that will work WITH ANY skybox!

Like so:

These look awesome by the way rolfy!

Lolwut?

I'm very inexperienced with Max, but the normals are already reversed aren't they? So model the cube into a sphere and it should work?

@Rolfy

Personal preference tbh. Hemispheres just look a little better.

Looks very good like always.

Rolfy, why don't you use some of the 3D resources from these sky-boxes and convert them to FPSCreator media? I mean, that is if they are low poly enough. There are a lot of little things in your sky-boxes that I could surely see do well on their own inside the engine. But if they are too high poly I understand.

Yep, way too high poly, some of the scenes in the skyboxes go as high as 8 billion poly's. The ones for the junkyard are around 750 million poly's.
I am however building some stuff to go with these skyboxes.

Overall very nice, but looking at the images posted, you have some clipping with the tires, in the first image, we see tires poking through the wall, and some floating.
Is this the one skybox at different times of day, or is it different skybox for eack one?

New pack coming soon, due to the plethora of new threads which seem to keep cropping up these days I am bumping this.
Wish some folks would wait till they had something substantial to show before they post their stuff, but I guess thats not gonna happen, if ya cant beat them join them huh?.
