I rarely visit this board but decided yesterday that I needed some advice on the use of the built-in DBPro limb commands. I'd long ago abandoned hope of getting my limbed models to move correctly and suddenly thought I'd revisit the problem.

Fortunately I did the sensible thing first and tried a search. Among the results was the following thread by pollywog

robot demo

That's such a clearly written demo that I decided to get to grips with simple animation using pollywog's demo as a starting point. I attach the resulting demo and here's a screenshot. I'm sure it could be improved.

So at first glance, it looks like a man on Mars
Have a look to this little model I posted some time ago in the challenges thread.

That works well.

What I can't see at the moment is how you managed to synchronize the feet with both the legs and the ground simultaneously. As you probably noticed, my demo doesn't get that right.

What I did, was just a scroll to the floor texture and I adjusted the speed. The example made by baxslash really walks on its own legs.

Here you can see his example

Cheers.

Thanks - baxslash's demo was brilliant (except for some odd reason only the W and S keys moved the robot - I'll look into his code later to see why).

It's been a while since I looked at the code challenges thread - lots of useful stuff buried in there.
