I started a thread in the DBP forum for the "AppUp Developers Group" to help other developers to get there games published on AppUp which is one of the many platforms AppGameKit will create games for. I also run an article in the newsletter each month to try to promote this group and what we are all about.

We want to help you publish and promote your own game.

Now whether you'll be using Tier 1 or Tier 2, publishing through TGC or under your own steam you can always benefit from the help of others, that's why these forums do so well right?

As a group we currently have over 30 published games and our own website which we will be adding links to from our games. We also help with Beta testing and making guides to help you through the widespread mass of available information. Just click the banner below to take a look at the site!

All published games can be added to the site by registering and writing a game listing. We will help you to produce the article if you have any difficulties!

We do ask that you help self-promote by including a link to the website in your game (I know this is not currently possible in AppGameKit Tier 1 but when it is possible we would appreciate it).

Great! Thanks guys I've added you all to the list

It just helps us all to have an idea of who is gaining from the group so thanks for posting.

I have some useful links in my other thread, I'll try to post as many relevant links here as I can too in the first post.

Well seeing as the AppGameKit is going to make it out before I could get the DBPro version of my game finished, I'll probably shift gears and get prepared for AppGameKit instead.

As for testing, I have:
-Samsung Atom N450 Netbook
-Core i5 + 4870x2 Win7 desktop
-Touchscreen HP tm2 laptop (this has been really fun to test on, and maybe someday we'll see a bunch of Windows tablets with the AppUp market)
-Whole heap of other desktops
-Android Samsung Galaxy S phone and 10.1" Tablet (can't wait for AppGameKit to support those)

I think it is the natural progression for this group to move into app development with AppGameKit, for all the platforms offered

It's great to see so many people joining!

Baxslash, I have another device to add to my list, an iPhone 3G. So if an app runs on that, it'll run on anything.

Oh, and I like how my name is on the list twice

Will do!

I was going to say something clever like "You're worth mentioning twice" but at last you have Ninja'd me back. Well done.

I spent a bit of time copying info across from the other thread and may have missed a few things in the process

1 down 2 to go. I can't wait until your game has online multiplayer because then you and I are going to have a little one on one.

Sorry for the double post but I just thought I'd let you all know I'm adding a few more games to the site today ready for published Authors to edit when they get their account details.

Also it makes the site look even cooler, MPL3D just added:

Promoting Our Games - Action required ASAP!

This message goes out to AppUp developers and ADG supporters, whether you have your game/app on there already or plan to publish in the future. If you have a published game/app and it is not on the ADG website, please let Baxslash, Hodgey or myself know about it and we will make sure it is added.

This week we are targeting Facebook with the Promotion of ADG. We would like all of our developers and supporters to post to their Facebook profile using the following instructions. Please try and keep to the plan, as this is part one of an organised campaign, we will be measuring the success of different methods and sharing the knowledge.

1. Go to http://adg.devink.co.uk (main page only, no game pages please, this will be another phase)
2. Click on the "Submit to Facebook" link near the top of the page. This will take you to your FB account with the post ready to go.
3. Add some text:
"The ADG site has been launched for those of you that appreciate the value of Indie Games and Apps. There are already 12 games and apps for you to download and enjoy. Visit the site now to browse the extensive catalogue, and preview upcoming publications before they reach the general public."

(This text has been carefully worded!)

4. Submit!
5. Please feedback and tell us you have done it so we can track the progress.

Many thanks in advance to all of you supporting this venture and the group. Baxslash, Hodgey, myself and anyone else who wants to get involved in the promotion of the site, apps and games have much work to do!

Don't forget to request your account on the ADG site even if you haven't published yet. You can partake in the discussions and promotions even if you don't have a game to present on the site. Anything we do now will only benefit all future publications.

ADG Site
This is just to say that if you are a published AppUp (or other platform) developer you can now get a user account on the ADG Games & Applications website where you can add your published, in development and/or coming soon games to the game listings!

We have already had several new members over the last week and this is a good opportunity to have your input in how the site develops. Our forums have an increasing number of posts and the site is getting bigger and better all the time.

Just email myself, Batvink, Hodgey or mnemonix to get your username and password and join us in helping to make this site a really great resource for developers and gamers. Also it's free publicity!

Update
Inside ADG! Is a new area on the ADG website where developers can write articles for our visitors and our own benefit!

The idea is we can share with the gaming community our experiences in developing games / apps and give them an insight that makes them feel part of the community and want to keep coming back.

Any developer who has been given a username and password (given on request to published developers) can write an article which will be published once a moderator has checked it over!

Great stuff! I think this section should really help engage people. Great article too! That gives a very nice introduction to the idea of game making. What other kind of articles are you thinking we could put there?

Thanks Lucas! Glad you like it

I was thinking of doing an article on Box2D and other Physics systems. Not really sure.

If you have any ideas just start an article and see how it goes!

Read your article and liked it as well. It was a nice simple introduction of who we are, and what we use.
There was one section there that didn't make much sense to me as written which you may want to reword to make it clearer.
Quote: "DarkGDK is a step closer to programming in DBPro but using the more widely identified game programming language C++."

I would have said that DarkGDK is a step towards more advanced programming than DBPro.
