Hi all who contributed

Thanks for all the hard work, time and enthusiasm put into this pack. I have been following its progress all along and have been very impressed with the originality of thought brought into the pack.

Special thanks to Cosmic Prophet as convener and coordinator.

Well done. It is another example why this community is so highly regarded and appreciated by its members.

Huh. I guess that TGPEG's pistons didn't make it inot the pack. That stinks. Everything else is amazing (of course), though

Sorry friend, there were quite a few "No shows" for this one. I guess these community packs have lost they're appeal. Maybe we'll try another some day, we'll see. But as you noted... there is still a bunch of cool stuff in this one. Thanks, and Enjoy!

Yeah, I guess it happens, but I don't think that necessarily means a loss of interest For now, I'm going to enjoy what was actually included in the pack instead of thinking about what wasn't. Here's to this pack and many more to come

I just downloaded it, built a map with a lot of stuff and and its terrific!!!

Really unique and very inspiring. Combines great with Cosmics Dark City pack and Rostradamus Dungeon Pack (lots of coqs there too) and his store items and free stuff. Willows shadered segment+window looks great ingame, comes in fact close to the Metro Theater. The "Time Machine" is nothing less than a piece of art, the illuminated Pillers and the animated Rgyros following closely.

Not to mention the creatures, they are astounding - especially Disturbing13's "steambot pith" (the one sporting the british 19th century colonial troop colours and helmet) is SO steampunkish, it doesn't get any better

A lot of thanks to EVERYONE who has contributed, now I'll have to get back toying around a little more with it

To All

If you have a graphics card which has 'no' support for pixel shader 2 and 3 you will notice that the textures will not appear on some of the objects in this pack.
To 'remedy' this issue you will have to open the objects 'FPE' file and delete the effect from the 'effect' line which can be found just below the texture line.
Don't forget to delete the '.BIN and .DBO' files generated by FPSC before testing the model with the new changes made (no effect).

Hope this helps.

I agree. I am sat on my work PC and can't download it here, but, would love an image to drool at to see all the wondrous items involved.

Plus, this is the first time i have contributed to a community pack, so it would be great to see some of my stuff in a pack!

Bug report:
The steampunk pistol (the one with the 3 colour variations) doesn't show its texture. That could be related to what Ross said, but in addition the firing isn't working. The gun continues fires on its own long after I pulled the trigger, the sound is playing out of synch and the ammo hud stays after the gun is swapped for another weapon

The Storyteller 01

There are a few minor issues here and there in the Pack.

Regarding 'Unfamillia's' steampunk pistol (the one with the 3 colour variations).
1 - Gun texture not showing up.
A - Just 'delete' the effect in the effect line within the models 'gunspec' file (all three model folders).

2 - The sound is playing out of synch.
A - Change the values in the 'gunspec' files to the ones in the section I have listed below here:

3 - The ammo hud remains when swapping to another weapon.
A - I think this is happening because Cosmic has not included 'hud_icons' with the other two gun type weapons in the Pack which is resulting in the previous weapons hud_icon remaining on screen.
Maybe Cosmic can wip up those 'hud_icons' to remedy this issue (hint, hint).

4 - The gun continues firing on its own long after I pulled the trigger.
A - I have not had this problem but maybe you are confusing this with the sound issue mentioned above (firing sound FX play when moving with gun) which can be remedied by changing to the values in the example above.

I hope I have helped in some way and all the best of luck.

Ps - Don't forget to delete the '.BIN and .DBO' files generated by FPSC before testing the model with the new changes made (no effect).

@Ross

Thanks for listing the fixes.

I should have really asked someone to test it for me in X9. I only have X10 and it all worked fine for me. (Except the firing sound, which i realised all too late was because i didn't change the sound frames to tie in with the custom animations)

Does anyone need me to post the ammo HUDS as a .rar file? I can upload them when i get home from work.

Also, i have included all the necessary image maps (_D, _D2, _I, _N, _S) so, they should work with the standard Bump.fx

No worries, just wanted to help out a little where I can but there is 'no' need for you to post the huds because there is nothing wrong with them. The problem is that there are two missing huds from two of the other guns in the Pack (Cosmic) which I will sort out in the next post here.
I'm not sure about texture not showing up on the guns themselves (it happens to me as well) but it can be simply sorted out by just getting rid of the 'effect' alltogether for those who might be experiencing problems such as this (just a quick fix).

Love the guns by the way and thank you for sharing them.

Missing Weapon Hud_Icons Fix

Cosmic, I hope you don't mind but I have rustled up two images to fill the spaces of the missing hud_icons with two of the weapons in the Pack.
This fixs the hud problem mentioned in the posts above.

Download here (with Read Me file)

Ps - Don't forget to delete the '.BIN and .DBO' files generated by FPSC before testing the model with the new changes made.

No problem, Thanks for the icons Ross. Those just slipped through the cracks I guess.

I have run into the shader issue as well, with weapons since ver. 1.18. I've tried several ways to fix the issue, so far with poor results. Still not sure what's going on with that, but as Ross said, you can remove the "effect" entry in the gunspec, and they will show up fine. If anyone has found a fix for this, I'd really like to know what's causing it, and how to remedy the issue. Thanks!

@ Dale, Ross, Unfamillia,

I've updated the pack download. Inside the archive is a "_Pack_Fixes" folder and have placed the fixes Ross has supplied. We will watch for any other issues and update the archive as needed.

In addition, the blue and green gun do work properly in v1.17. They fire correctly, sound is in sync, and the texture is present. The red gun acts funny in our version (similar to what Storyteller mentioned). It fires a projectile, sits for a few seconds, explodes, then the gun fires by itself again. The fixes Ross outlined seemed to help us in our version.

The projectile is supposed to explode after a few seconds, it doesn't explode on impact. But, i don't know why it would shoot again by itself. Very strange.

I will take a look at the gunspec when i get in and see if i can evaluate the issue properly.

I feel awful that its my stuff that's causing all the issues!

@Ross

Am I correct in assuming that all three of the ammo HUDS for each of my guns are working correctly, it was just an issue with the other two pistols not having HUDS?

I figured the projectile explodes after a few seconds. When we click the button to fire once, it would fire, then fire again on its own. I did change the gunspec for it as Ross suggested and now it does not fire on its own.

Either way, it is a minor issue that we can get solved. you did a great job on these, and everyone appreciates them.

Sorry for late reply but as far as I know 'all' of your ammo huds are working correctly as I have said already.
The main issue for me was that the audio FX were not in synch but I took a look at the gunspec and filled the values to the animation frames used for the sound FX which to me did the trick.

Don't feel bad, these things happen (no big deal).

Ross,

I completely forgot to amend the sound frames after importing the models. So, i am glad it was something simple to fix.

I will try to get it all correct on the next model pack.

As promised, pack is now split into 4 parts. I've emailed you just in case.

@ Dale

The link you have listed in the first post is for part 1 now, not the whole pack. I've sent you an email with the link, or people could just go to the FPSC Packs link, then click on Team Packs, and navigate to page 3.
