BERLIN - AXIS DEMO RELEASE (OLD AND NO LONGER MAINTAINED)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/g46y587tgm66xvv/BERLIN+AXIS.zip

Description: This is a work in progress WWII team arena based shooter. The player sides either with the Axis or Allied forces and faces off against computer controlled AI bots in small scale infantry warfare using an arsenal of period weaponry. Harking back to the days of Battlefield 1942 and Day of Defeat, each team has a certain amount of reinforcements -- "tickets" -- and victory is achieved when one team forces the other team's tickets to zero.

Developer Notes: This isn't the prettiest FPSC game by any means, nor is it 100% optimized. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person to accomplish any sort of arena based shooter with FPS Creator so I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor. I began this project with the intent to make a game that has lots of playtime and lots of replayability. I wanted to avoid linear corridors and paths which eventually led me to pay homage to some of my favorite WWII FPS games of all time. You'll see obvious inspiration from Battlefield and Day of Defeat for example.

BERLIN - AXIS DEMO RELEASE
http://www.mediafire.com/download/g46y587tgm66xvv/BERLIN+AXIS.zip

This is a one level demo of the Berlin map with the player on the Axis team. There are 30 tickets on each team. There are lots of problems with the level, including AI glitching, occasional gameplay faults, and issues with the ticket system. Performance is not yet perfect, but it should be (mostly, unless the AI gets stuck) playable. Feedback is welcomed, just keep it constructive!

@Susysyay

This is one of the most impressive FPSC games I've played for a long time. You certainly managed to deliver on all of your goals. The map design and gameplay are particularly good and I really had fun playing. It reminds me of when I used to play Call of Duty 3 and would love to see more maps using the same format.

This is a great alternative to FPSC online multiplayer which never really became popular and could open up a lot of possibilities for the community. I'm also glad to see you are using Vishnu Launcher which is perfect for this game so you have a map selection screen. Also thanks for using Nomad Mod v1.3. Its really great to see it being used in peoples projects, especially something this good.

Congratulations and great work.

The game was fun mate. Enjoyed shooting up the enemies. Just a question, where did you get the buildings from?

Oh. Thanks for the intel. BTW I have just visited the forums recently and to my surprise there are 3 WW2 based projects going on, excluding mine, with each being unique in their own way. What a coincidence. LOL!

Expect a new demo soon, either with the Russians on Berlin, or a whole new map

Update incoming! Take cover!

I have two new maps almost done. They are still unnamed, but focus again on urban combat. Close quarters weapons are in!

These first two images are of a map I've recycled from a previous project and have been modifying to better accommodate the style of gameplay I'm going for. This map has British forces trying to take over a French village from the Wehrmacht. Alleys and backyards are the main areas of conflict. This map is still very WIP and is missing gameplay elements like the ticket counter, etc.

The second map has the American's fighting Wehrmacht troops in a heavily bombed and destroyed city. This map has a more open center crossroad with a destroyed and smoking tank as the centerpiece. Heavy weapons are a go, with the Browning Automatic Rifle and StG44 making enemy advances difficult for both sides.

This map is almost complete, including spawn rooms, weapon spawns, ticket counter, etc and should see a release alongside the prior BERLIN level soon.

Also, there have been several tweaks and changes to help improve performance, as that tends to be FPSC's weak spot. These include:

-Removal of shaders
-Slightly lower lightmapping
-Reworked AI scripts (possibly buggy, but I am still working to tweak them as best I can. Bear with me...)
-A few post process effects have been edited, tweaked, and toned down.
-Floorlogic for AI as they don't like to follow waypoints vertically anyways.

I was hesitant to remove shaders, but there is a significant performance gain. However, I am looking to make shaders an end user options, rather than "hard-coded" when it comes to actual releases.

Hey Sususyay (wonder if I spelled that correctly :p ) I just downloaded the level of Operation Aurora of you BFBC2 fan game and I have to say, I found the gameplay quite good compared to an average FPSC game. Great Job!

@Mriganka

Thank you for the compliment. The BC2 project taught me a lot and I used most of that to build this game. I feel this project actually better represents Battlefield, being more "multiplayer" in style.

NEW BETA RELEASE!!! Download below

http://www.mediafire.com/download/211nzwv8vljpzon/WWII+Game+Beta.zip - 447MB

This release contains updates to the previous Berlin level and an entirely new level - Neuville, which is nightime level from previous posts. It's very small scale combat, but pretty intense. I hope you enjoy. Criticism and comments welcome. Take aim, soldier!

I absolutely love the daytime scenes. They look so well lit and such. The only thing that I don't really like is the lighting you are using in that bunker, it's a bit too... well, yellow.

@s4real

Thank you for the kind words. I hope to make a follow-up in either X10 or Gameguru, though Gameguru is still missing some basic features I'd need, like allies. I am glad you enjoyed and I hope you'll try the finished game when it's done.

@Madcow

Thank you for the compliment on the environments. The bunker is not the main focus of the game. The player simply spawns there and chooses a weapon. I'm not too concerned about the finer details in those spaces, though I'll consider lowering the intensity of the yellow light

Update Incoming!

Hello, today I present the third and final main battle map for the initial release. I'm debating if I will add a fourth map after release 1.0. I am contemplating creating a tutorial level as well for release.

Anyway, onto the map. It's working name is "Wolf Town" and it was actually showcased as the daytime map above. However, the original draft of the map was very unbalanced, and had very poor flow. I have since revised about half of the level and changed the general mood of the map to a dusk-ish time of day. Based on the towns of Normandy and French countrysides, fight in the streets and backyards of a German occupied town.

Thanks, expect either one more demo soon, or even possibly, an official V1.0 release! Comments and crits welcome
