Hey all

Only level 68 myself, Outlands rough...I am speaking, of course, about World of Warcraft in case any of the non-initiated (i.e. addicted) people find their way here...

Cheers,

Lol, I'm almost 62, but I haven't been playing too much lately. I like Outlands. You make hundreds of gold so easily.

I'm a lvl 69 'Teenager'.

Yeah, I've got 3 months, and I'll level up to be a lvl 70 'twenties' man.
I'm so good at this game.

Oh, and incase you don't have an account yet, the game I'm talking about, of course, is "Life" - go get one

Ouch...yeah, only reason I'm not 70 is because I'm going to college =( Hey, I eat, sleep, go to class, and *fortunately* for me, I'm a lab monitor, so I get to play there =P

Not my fault games are my passion...Actually a CS major here, probably switching to VTD, because I want to work in the game industry =P

lol

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
I've seen first-hand what happens to people when they play these kinds of games (MMORPGs mostly, but normal online games have the same effect), and they usually end up not having anything that could even possibly be construed as a life

Well heck, some people even die from drinking water! We better stop drinking you guys!

People die from a great many things, that doesn't make ALL death casuing things bad, it's usually just accidents, or in this guys case a mental issue.

If someone died from playing WoW they really confirmed the fact that they had no life

Nah, but really WoW is alot of fun. You don't have to be addicted to it to play it

ROFL! Actually, first of all. I'm not a dragon warrior, I'm a Tauren warrior, and second of all. I try not to bring up my obsesssion with video games first thing around girls. Thirdly, there's quite a few girls who play WoW, so there's always the chance I'll find one there

Lol, a friend at my school showed his friend WoW, who in turn showed his girl friend WoW, several months later his girl friend dumped him becasue he was getting in the way of her account leveling

Quote: "I'm a lab monitor, so I get to play there"

Yeah, I'm trying to get this job at my school too. But ecidently they shanghei (spelling?) lab techs to work in the computer shop. On normal occasions I'd rather work in the shop, but I have to much school to do, so I'd rather sit in a computer lab... and get paid

That's probably a good thing, not that that happened, but that that happened now rather than later. They OBVIOUSLY weren't meant for each other if she dumped him for WoW...

Well, there are those, yes. But I have met a few real girls whether they are fat and overweight is still unknown. But, I do know 2 females who play WoW, my 25 year old cousin, and 17 year old friend. Both are not fat or unattractive.

And come on guys, most girls may not be interested in computers, but when you show them 1000s of lines of code and a killer compiled game, they do get mildly impressed (I've done it a few times) I've even gotten a few to play the games.

I dont own, nor ever have owned, WoW, but as much as I hate to say it, my friend used to own a copy and it looks really fun. Who wouldnt like to emmerse themselves in such a gigantic world like that?

Then you step back from the chair for 1 second, and wonder, what would a girl, or any of my friends, say if they saw me playing this? And you slowly burn all evidence of any WoWness in your home.

I'm also a WoW player Hehe. Currently my main character is a level 65 gnome mage. I really enjoy the new expansion pack for it. Been playing the game for a while now. In my oppinion it's a really impressive game. And with Burning Crusade installed, the world just got even bigger!

Actually haven't they done studies where the majority of female avatars in MMORPGs are really dudes? Kinda what Jess said, but I'm elaborating a bit more.

I don't know how it worked in WOW but in other morphs I've played people make female characters so they can pretend to be an online girlfriend to some mark, get married online to them, then move into their house. The next day the poor sap finds the girl character gone, along with all his gold and rares. Just like marrage in real life then!

WoW is killing my friends. Freshman year my friend Jason and I were going to go discing (Frisbee golfing) and get Taco Bell. We went to our friend Brody's room. He was on WoW, and wouldn't get off to go with us. It was ridiculously nice outside. It was pretty lame. But last year Jason got married and got an apartment. He fell to the horror of WoW. And then so did his wife. So that's pretty much all they do now. I pity them. And my sister's boyfriend plays. So my sister started playing. And some of my old friends from high school play. I can't seem to get them to talk about anything else. Makes me quite sad.

A few of my good lady friends play =P Quite good looking as well heh...

There's nothing wrong with the game...this thread is just like the paintball thread a while ago...Just because some idiots run around shooting eachother in the eyes does NOT mean that the game is bad...

True, theres a few mentally ill people that play, that have gone to extremes of getting divorces, kicked out of college, fired from jobs, etc, but that does NOT mean that all casual players are like them...and 90% of the game is casual =P

I personally can't really play on weekdays, except tuesdays and thursdays when I work, so unless I have homework i can squeeze in a few hours of play ^^

I can proudly say that I've never coded a game of merit! Working on it though =P

I think that other online games are more interesting... Elite Force, Halo CE, World Racing. They might not be as popular, but they have much more interesting gameplay in my opinion.

I have a friend, he's 38 years old, nice guy - got wife and two kids... he lives nearby and my daughter plays with his kids all the time so I go over often.

I don't think I have _ever_ arrived at his house and he was NOT playing WoW. Normally I talk to him while he plays WoW. My family was actually over his place for the new year 2007 and, come midnight, he was at his bloody computer rather than with us (and his wife, and his kids) poping the cork on the bubbly!

I find that very, very sad indeed... but, at least, he's been a level 70 with a flying mount for over a week - which I'm sure must mean a lot to WoW players...

I have vague plans for World Domination

I've never played WoW, and don't even know how it looks like. But let me say something that is obvious, which most people forget about when they play games. Games should be a source of healthy entertainment.

If the dude has free time to spend on entertainment, there is no problem if he does spend a part of it with games. It becomes a problem when he gets obsessed with score, items, his character's clothes. Some people spend their precious money (or their precious moms' money) on in-game "privileges". Actually, some people would cry if they lose their accounts, because they let games become an important part of their existence.

I used to play an online billiards game called "Carom". Some people just laughed at me and told me I was an utter loser because I had less than fifty percent of victories.

As long as you have healthy fun...

Once again, most of you guys are posting the "horror" stories of WoW =P

Seriously, it's not a bad game! Sure, some people are addicts, but it's not a WoW only problem. I don't see why you all condemn the game because it's good. If someone's addicted, then they need help. It's not the games fault. 5Louiz is absolutely right =P

Well, I haven't the money to play expensive Online games like WoW each month, so I'm cheap with stuff like Silkroad online, and I'm probably not even level 7, let alone 70...I have a life, of doing other life depriving things, like posting on this forums.
