Has anyone tried to make a basket ball hoop with a basket ball so that you could pick it up and toss it through the hoop?

yup i tried this before, was pretty boring and didn't work that well, unless you made an oversized hoop, and get collisions right.

Is that as bad as almost every other movie made about a video game?
Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of the all time great games.
I don't want to ruin one of the few fond memories of my past by watching a bad movie...

Hitchhikers need towels, because without them, they are basically screwed.

It was actually a book... a series of 5, in fact, before it was a radio show, game, or movie.

The series consists of:

(1) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
(2) The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
(3) Life, the Universe, and Everything
(4) So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
(5) Mostly Harmless

The books are great, by the way, so READ THEM!!!

Wrong:

Douglas Adams wrote the radio show for the BBC in the late 70's (he didn't even know where he was going with it). After it's popularity, he released several books between 1979 and 1992 (Pols voice got them in the right order).

It has also been adapted into a stage show, a 1981 TV series and (as Fred said) and game in 1984. Apparently it was also turned into a series of comics by DC. Most recently, it was adapted into the film version with Martin Freeman (though that wasn't too bad, it didn't have the spark of the TV series).

The guy asked if you could make a basketball hoop to throw the basketball in...
Now you're all talking about the Hitch Hiker's guide to the Galaxy. Talk about off-topic.

Thanks for clearing things up, AE.

Phlumetoid, I guess you're right; things did get off-topic.

As to Burianu's original question: Yes, it would be possible to do that. I know that there are several ball entities that have been released for free on the forums. You could re-texutre them to get them to look like basketballs. I don't know if anyone has made a hoop yet, but it is quite possible to do.
