My problem is when i had made the game on FPSC i had saved it then i had made the "Build Game Executable". But when i had sent it to the other pc which the game and its files were compiled in WinRar, i kept getting a message from Microsoft saying "there was an error opening this file" can someone please help me out with this?

When i tried clicking the game i had a Microsoft message saying "there was an error and the program had to be exited" so can someone please help me on this?

The other computer probably doesn't have the latest direct x.

Next time look what forum you are posting in.

Think about it.... you posted this in the scripts forum and the chat. Now let's take a deep breath and think this over. Hmmmm there is a bug reports forum for if you are having errors and bugs. Well given that that is an error and possibly a bug you might want to post there. Hmmm the script forum, which is having to do with scripts. I don't see a script or script question in your post. Now chat, is a reasonable place. Please post in the right forums. I know you are new but TGC couldn't make it anymore easy for you to post in the right forum.

Oh and by the way, if you post the same thing in two different forums which the forums have nothing to do with your post. People will start to get VERY angry. Now I may sound rude here, but there is the nicest warning you will ever get. That is until Fredp comes in with his smiley, lol.

Doesn't it seem like there are just too many bored people with nothing better to do than comb the forums looking for questions that they can answer in a rude and "I'm so much better than you" manner?

Your time could be much better spent making games instead of making yourself feel superior by putting down others and filling up the forum with multiple useless answers. But hey, that's just one person's opinion. Maybe I just don't get it.

@Executing with another pc,

Once you have built the game and the game folder is on your PC, does it play properly? If it does, you can narrow the problem to either your archive program, or your friends PC not meeting the minimum specs or not being updated to the latest DirectX.

If you are seeing a "there was an error opening this file" message, I have to assume that WinRar is the problem since you have not yet got to the games files.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

I'm not better than anyone here. And I'm very bored and have nothing better to do. I'm always on the forums and so far in February there have been like a million new joiners and none decide to read the stickies and the start posting crazy stuff like this guy. It is starting to get rather annoying. But sometimes people have to think a little outside the box. This guy posted twice, both times it was in the wrong forums. This guy didn't search. Whether he's been here a minute, a day, or his entire life.... he should read stickies, search, search, and read stickies.

I told him I didn't want to sound rude, maybe I should have said "with all do respect" (Talladega nights is an awesome movie)

Tell me that was not condescending. The point is that you are not the forum police. We have MODS whose job it is to keep the forum in order. If you choose to respond to a question, try to be helpfull AND respectful. If questions annoy you, it would be better to ignore them instead of clogging up the boards with useless garbage.

I am not aiming this at you alone or in particular, and this rant makes me guilty as well, but as long as we were on the subject....

@Executing with another pc

Sorry about hijacking your thread, but I think it has been answered.
