I got mine this morning ! I pre-ordered from Game-UK for £30, and guess what, I got a mini strategy guide to go with it The only bummer is, I won't be playing until Saturday or so because I'm moving house. Anyone else got their copy yet?

I grabbed it yesterday, seems fairly good so far, only have played 4 hours so far, in terms of Final Fantasy, I've only just begun The new game play system seems a bit odd, but hey, I like it, the way it's set out is a little different too, sort of has elements from each of the Final Fantasies, well most of them, just like 24 season 6 carries elements of the previous series, good way to keep a story going Ah but it's looking good so far, makes up for the disaster of Final Fantasy X-2, just see my review on Cian's website, that one was terrible.

Not for Europe and Australia. Its been out for a while in the US, and Japan for even longer.

I bought mine launch day for the US and I've played for about 30 hours for a couple weeks after I bought it. Then I quit and haven't played it for like 3 months.

Replace that X with a V and you've got a much better game

Nah, XII is much better than VII. But both are amazing.

Go FFVI!

FFXII makes me almost wish I had a ps2. From what I've seen, it's a real work of art.

Maybe if I like the Wii enough, I'll get a ps2 as well, though unless I could find the original Spyro games (something I'd do first), I can count the games I'd get for it on one hand.

You live in Boston, right? In Framingham there's a store called GameUniverse, good chance you could find them there. Thought they're not that hard to find - I saw Ripto's Rage at my local GameStop used for like $6.

I wouldn´t worry about not having it. It´s like classical music. You can apreciate that it´s good quality and alot of talent has gone into it but it still sends you to sleep after 5 mins.
They´ve made tons of improvements but I wish there was a "I can´t be bothered to slowly make my way through dungeons fighting endless monsters only to find that I need to level grind in order to defeat the boss please show me the awesome movies and storyline in movie form." button.

Need path finding in your games? Have a look at the tutorials on Pathfinding.

And FFVII

I've played 6/7 hours of FFXII, and I still can't make a judgement on it being better than FFVII, it's pretty good, but, well I'll see how the rest of the game unravels, I think the new battle system is pretty weird, but more interactive, It made fighting the Queen Mimic a bit different, so I could run around attacking the little guys, whilst a couple of guys attacked the Queen, one guy helping me, and then using him to continue attacking the little dudes, so I can cast healing spells to stop everybody dying and launch a full on attack on the Queen and kick her but. So really it offers more freedom and strategy, a great up point without loosing it's time based system or being as boring as FF Tactics.

But plot and style is what usually helps me pick the best Final Fantasies. It's seems good so far. But really, the 'best' is subjective, but it would be interesting to see if FFXII could replaced FFVII, if so or close, then it was totally worth it rather than getting 4 good recent PC games for £35.

If you're looking for the story to pickup you're going to be disappointed.

Its a very political game with no character development. Unlike any of the other FF titles. I think that's where it falls short to fans of the series.

FF VIII forever ...i like 7, but 8 was better, hands down...but i'm partial to love storys, and i'm a Sguall in my life...so maybe i related to the game more. Though, my Cloud 1000 counter attack materia was awsome! Did anyone beat or even bother to beat RUBY? Blah! I gave up after the 10th time he decided to suck poor Cloud and Tifa and leave me with damn Barret! Shoulda got Vincient...

OH, and FFXII is fun, though, it is very political, and it makes it feel different from other FF's. Still fun though

Uh... there's character development in there; Ashe, Vaan, Larsa, etc.

Story is very well done, mixes classic Final Fantasy with new political intrigue.

VII = pretty good
VIII = very good (Love stories are my favourite!)
IX = alright, but the characters look like kids!
X = Excellent (gotta love the Macalania Lake Video )
XI = Not as good as WOW
X Part II = It's good because it ties up loose ends, but still isn't all that great.
XII = Superb. I can't wait to see the ending .

Once you use the battle system in XII you won't want to play any other turn based RPG's. It's genius. The license board is MUCH better than the cursed sphere grid. *Spits*.

I lost my girlfriend for almost two months to FFXII. And my Playstation. I hate that game now lol, it's definitely a day-slayer. She loves Final Fantasy and other RPG's but I can't get her to sit through Fallout , and it's the only RPG I ever really loved.
