ok so I recently learned how to draw huds and I have a little system set up. Fisrst I use paint to draw It then ACD to conert it to .tga then I drag it into wherever. However when I draw true black 0,0,0 it always remains there instead of going invisible! can anybody help me or tell me why this is happening?

actually you need something more sophisticated like gimp photoshop or paintshop pro for this.
I use photoshop and in photoshop you should select all the parts that you want to be transparent and then go to channels and add a new channel (alpha) then while you still in the new channel use a white brush to pain all over the picture (the selection only limits the color to the parts you want).
after that activate all of the channels and save it as TGA (make sure that in save options alpha channel is selected). voila the transparent HUD is ready.
if you don't understand these instructions search for tutorials on making alpha channels.

P.S. I find MS paint very good partly because of its siplicity, like fpsc lol.

{edit} hey how come I could make invisible parts in decals with MS paint then?

because for huds you need alpha channels for decals you just need pure black

i suggest you email to gimp support and see if it is possible to fix the problem.
I personally find it impossible to make FPSC content without an advanced graphics software.
