Hi all,
As most of you know I left TGC at the end of January and have since been working for Aardman Animations as their Senior Developer / Technical Lead. for those of you who don't know, Aardman produce films, tv series and adverts, the most famous of which are their Wallace and Gromit films.
Since joining I've been working on the web site for a new TV series called 'Shaun the Sheep'. Shaun was a character in the Wallace and Gromit film 'A Close Shave', probably one of the most popular characters! Anyway he is appearing in a new TV series for CBBC (that's the BBC Childrens channel), each episode being 5 minutes long. I have to admit that for a kids show they are really funny, and the humour is spot-on in typical Aardman fashion.
Anyway I had to build the main .com site and also a mini site for the BBC, both of which are now fully live. The BBC is showing trailers for Shaun already, so catch one if you can
Building the site for the BBC was heck of an experience.. they have a 'standards guidelines' document which is pages and pages long, and you have to code everything to follow it all, which is quite a challenge. But the end result is worth it!
Here's the main site, including 6 video clips so you can get an idea of the type of animation / style of show. If you go into the 'Games' section and pick 'Sing-a-long' you can also see the entire title sequence.

and here is the site I built for the BBC:

The show starts March 5th.
Cheers,
Rich
