do you have to use any special formatting, functions or header files, or is it just raw c++ code?

if it is c++ code, how do you call functions inside the dll from darkbasic?

PS,
i post this in 'newcomers corner' because im new to darkbasic

You can use any program that generates proper DLL's (so that rules out VB).

You would include any headers as appropriate.

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

I dont really know much about how the dlls work, but if you go to the help file and click on technical papers there's a section that talks about the dlls.

DBPro only.

If you've got the DB Enhancement Pack (or DarkMATTER) there is the equivalent documents included with those. You can't make native commands though (like with DBPro).

Cheers,

Rich

The DLL code was included only with DarkMATTER, it's one of its main highlights. Purchase it or DBP for DLL fun . If that's not an option for you right now, and you need to achieve a certain effect, I'd ask on the DarkBASIC main discussion board, or maybe here, with your question. It might be quite possible without having to use DLLs.
