Hello
Well I got anim8or,entity maker and a DB converter last night so I spent some time throwing these together. They are giant pipes you can walk on, look at oh and shoot at Anyhow this is my first attempt at modeling and texturing so please don't flame. I didn't spent much time on the texture but considering I used paint I thought it was decent. Screenshots

I built these for warehouse levels (and practice

OK If anyone's interested I will make a free warehouse pack. Hey what if anyone who wanted to could add their free warehouse themed media. we could group all their, and maybe my stuff into a pack. It could be like a free model pack 3 But seriously if anyone is interested in the idea I think it would be good thing for the community plus everything would be grouped up together in one thread. Everyone who contributed would obviously get credit. Please don't flame it's just an idea If you want to email me contact me at EOTcrew@gmail.com

P.S. I'm working on some cardboard and wood boxes at the moment. But I still stink at texturing. (does anybody want the three boxes?) If you download please comment.

Please no more boxes. This is the most common entity around.
Yes, modeling simple objects is a good way to learn. I say,
make a box and move on. Publish new things for the community.

Happy modeling!

Oh well there are only five boxes tops, no more I promise but I made a small recycling bin and and wastebasket, ideal for an office area. If you have a request please tell me and I will attempt it. Some other non-box entities are: A giant crane MAY be usable but only maybe. some barrels (are those OK? JK). a bowling ball and pins (good for some factory levels like a pin making plant) heavy machinery. The giant red pipes (of course) pillars and some segments. If anybody would like to pitch in with their warehouse themed media that would be great

P.S. screenshots (and maybe a movie) will be coming soon.
Credit will obviously be given to any contributors. Oh and are giant freight boxes ok?

Slayer_2,

Greetings. I've taken the liberty of improving your texture slightly, and have included a yellow, and rusted metal variation. See the attached Big Pipe.zip file. I've optimized the .x file, and remapped the hanging version of the pipe. Just make the adjustments to the .fpe, and you should be good to go.

Enjoy!

Thanks,

Seth Black

Good for your first model. I think you should darken the texture though because it is too bright.

Greetings. It'd be fine if you want to include the contents of Big Pipe.zip in your Warehouse Pack. I would be grateful if you would give me credit for the retextures.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Re-textures count especially when the old textures were bad to start with
why did you bold the Warehouse pack?
BOW
Slayer_2
P.S. congrats on being the first to add something to the pack

(edit) it seems they don't work very well could you try sending me the texture only or finishing them yourself please?

Slayer_2,

Greetings. I enboldened Warehouse Pack only because it's the name of the pack you've mentioned making. No hidden cryptic meaning behind the choice.

Quote: "(edit) it seems they don't work very well could you try sending me the texture only or finishing them yourself please?"

The retextures are mapped to the Hanging Pipe.x file that I included in the Big Pipe.zip upload. I optimized your original .x file, and generated a new texture map from that. The original .x file you created will not correctly apply these new textures.

Substitute Hanging Pipe.x for your original .x file in the .fpe, and make sure that the texture line also points to the new texture files. They work fine.

Thanks,

Seth Black

EDIT: I've attached a .zip with the .fpe files that I'm currently using with the pipes. Replace .x file, add these .fpe files, and the 64 x 64 thumbnails to the folder.

NOTE: You must either convert the bitmap texture maps to .tga / .dds, or manually change the extension to .bmp on the texture line of the .fpe file.

Greetings,

I noticed that there is a black seam that appears in the previous textures included in the Big Pipe.zip. Sorry for the oversight. Here are the three textures, with the seam issue fixed.

Thanks,

Seth Black

OK good job. they do look good now the entities of the warehouse pack about 70% done but there is still lots of segments I need to make.

(edit)Here is a list of every entity that I am making for the pack:
Crane, pipes (obviously) ☻ , fake walls, boxes (but only five) ☻ , barrels, decals ☻ , coiled rope, bushes ☻ , cables, large 2X2 segment lift, pillars, some heavy machinery and more...
better get to work eh?
when I am finished a entity I will check it off like this: ☻
