My computer likes to randomly restart, I cannot figure out why but I get the nice blue screen and all I can read is "Installed" and then it restarts, but there is much more on the screen I tried looking for the dump file but all i could find was the Dr. Watson one, which hell if I know what that means....Can anyone point me to a dump file reader or can help me in anyway?

Could be a virus try typing "AVG Free" into Google and installing it.

Could also be a faulty M/B or faulty memory, sorry i don't know any free software for testing these but i know it's out there.

What OS are you using? I've not seen a Dr Watson error since Windows NT4

No doctor watson is logging the error dumps.

I have Symantec anti-virus the best i know, I should get Nod32 since that works a hell alot better but my friend dosent have a copy he could only put it on my lappy top =(.

But I'v done countless spyware anti-virus as well as recovery console (chkdsk /r) to try and fix the problem but it seems to come back no matter what I do....So I dunno....just need some help from those smarter people out there...

[1] download a program called Aida 32, when people ask you for specific parts and manufacturer names of your computer bits, use that program to show us.

[2] What temperature is your computer running at when it starts to restart.?
free temp programs will reveal it if your system does not have built in ones.
check your bios settings to see if it shuts down at a given temperature.

[3] Are you playing games and it shuts down?
What commonly is running when it shuts down.
Have you installed or changed anything recently after it started happening.?

[4] Please define more about what this "Installed" blue screen says

The below code snipplet shows what my computer outputs after a crash. Indi, it does it for no good reason, it dosnt matter what i do or if the computer is just idling.

No when the blue screen comes on indi all i can read is "installed" before the computer restarts thats part of whats displayed on the screen tomorrow im going to set my computer to not auto restart when it crashes so i can read the freaking screen.

Have your overclocked your procesor or anything?

Trying to get your CPU/Memory to run faster than it's recomended rating can cause this, as well as the faulty M/B and memory.

Random crashing is one of the hardest things to diagnose. Replacing the main board often solves it but it's a pain to do and so is a last ditch solution. Worth looking on google to see if your M/B model or BIOS has been reported as dodgy anywhere.

at least you have tracked it down to a nvidia component.
best now to google until the sun goes down with similar experiences others have had.

Already found what i needed indi, take a look.

My current fix is to use my marvell controller until i can figure out how to get my nvidia one working again, i found some people who posted "fixes" on various websites but they where for a unrelated bug, so lets see.....the search continues

Why is a Video Card manufacturer making on-board network cards hehehehe! They should stick to making video cards.

Most people with this problem just seem to dissable the onboard network card in the BIOS and slot a different make of NIC in the PCI bus. Lots of people seem to have this issue Send Nvidi the bill for a new card if they cannot resolve it

@GatorHex:Nvidia have done this for YEARS. Like try, 4-5. They have the best quality parts too.

Thanks for the help!

my god that was one mental minefield post. who cares what political aspiration you have with logical problems pertaining to a computer. seriously if you looked at the first screen and wrote it down you would have solved it with some googling all the way back at the start. anyway regardless you have the problem sorted.
