Hi all,

Issue 50 of the TGC Newsletter was just released. Wow, 50 issues! damn that's good We've got the Great Giveaway where 50 random subscribers are rewarded, DBPro at 50% off, massive FPSC X10, the superb Enhanced Animations DLL released, DBPro Fundamentals Part 2 and loads more. It's a big bursting issue of goodness and for those of you not from the UK, that isn't the new TGC 'logo' on the cover, it's all just part of the Red Nose Day activities this weekend.

You can thank Steve (Batvink) for this monster issue. I just tidied it up and prepped it for release, he did all the hard work

Grab it from the usual place:

Cheers,

Rich

It's amazing - whenever that is removed, someone always posts about it - yet not one person who has actually won a copy of DBPro in the past 12 months has bothered to email us for it! Quite frankly I don't think it is worth bringing back again.

What? Steve moved a couple of articles to Issue 51 is 50 was getting quite lengthy already.

I was wondering why the Alias3D guy never came back to the showcase board in the FPSC section. Looks like those Model Packs are no longer under consideration for sale.

Thanks for all the kind words chaps...seriously. It has been a daunting month, but extremely enjoyable and I am glad it has been well received. I know it's traditional to give a speech as you leave, but I have to thank Rick, Rich and the rest of the team for making my first lone issue pain-free and good fun. You don't realise just how busy everyone is behind the scenes until you've experienced it first-hand.

That is most probably because most people that receive the newsletter have already got a copy of DBP. Maybe you could change the offer to have a similar thing to what you are giving away in this issue ... a £20 discount on TGC products would be a more welcome gift to most people than a copy of a product they already own.

Excellent newsletter! I went over it briefly before bed last night, and I'm going to study it today. Great job!

@Agent Dink -
Thanks! Somehow I knew I was going to win.

That seems crazy that nobody has won a copy of DBP. If I'd ever won, I'd have tried to swindle TGC out of a gift certificate.

Oddly, I didn't get a copy of the newsletter in my e-mail inbox. I read it by seeing the link posted here. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hey, is the prize £20 or $20? I am much more fond of the British pound than the lame old American dollar. £££££££££££!!!

I went to look at the site of one of the companies featured in the FPSC section of the Newsletter: Nano Games

None of the games they list are available from that site. Why were they featured in the Newsletter, when nothing's available; or am I missing something?

Why don't you only pick emails from people who have been active in the forums since the last newsletter? I am sure people would claim it then. There's probably loads of people who left ages ago, but forgot to unsubscribe

There's no way for them to know which email addresses are active on the forums. And besides, forum activity has no value with whether you're a decent coder and/or could use a free copy of DBP.

Oddly enough I didn't receive this newsletter by email. I think that is the first one that hasn't gotten through. I'll have to check my spam filter levels again.

My copy is _always_ killed by the spam filter as it arrives with "*** SPAM ***" in the subject.

It also didn't make it into my spam box and I get all kinds of crap in there. It is odd that so many people are having a problem all of a sudden. I always received the newsletter in my inbox about the same time that I would notice a post on these forums about it.

Ditto on not receiving this month's newsletter in the ol' email box. I always have, until now. Was there a change in the submission process?

There was no change, used the exact same system as always (Microsofts bCentral mailing service). We really need to consider moving to something else, but I'm just a little concerned the same thing will happen regardless of mailing list provider, just because the contents of some issues are more 'spam' worthy. Or maybe bCentral had a spam issue recently, and they're blacklisted.

I've checked both my email spam boxes and the newsletter isn't in either. I don't seem to have received it at all. :-(

On the other hand, I have received an email offering me larger breasts in a fortnight. I can't understand why anyone would think I'd be remotely interested in that.
