Hi All, I hope this is on the right board.
I want to create a level that has waves of enemies etc, But I can'yt get it to work right, I know some of you did wave based levels for a level competition a whiloe ago.
Could someone please explain how to get waves to work, I'm really frustrated.

I appreciate any help
Thanks

What did you try?
How is what you're trying not working?

People will help you if they know that you really researched and tried something.

Hello, hello.

I actually worked with a script for wavebased enemies for the wave based contest. Though, I have needed to reinstall my computer so i dont have it any longer, and it was a long time ago i scripted anything, but i can try putting something together for you if no-one is faster than me.

Greetings.

Mega FPSCpack coming soon!

It's been a while brummel. It's good to see you back.
brummel is a great scripter and has given me quite a bit of help with scripting in the past.
brummel,
Is there any way you can download the level you entered for the wave based contest off of these forums and rip the script from that?
That might be easier than trying to write a whole new one.

Hi thanks guys.
Well, what I've tried to date , mostly having enemies spawn on death and having them follow waypoint so to the players location , while making the player have a speed of 0, the simplest way, and then also with a custoim script or two, all have proven useless, as the AI is either so terrible that it follows the waypoint and doesn't shoot, or shoots , but runs in place.

thanks Brummel, I'd obviously appreciate any help possible, even if you can only point me in the right direction.
Thanks
J

You can only have 3 enemies comming at you at once, otherwise FPSC will lag, and not run some scripts.

Yay I got FF XII, and it totally rocks! Love the new battle system

Well, yes and no, since the upgraded patch and following som e of the advice given by some other users on the forum.
Ie - Giving the same script different anmes and assigning them to different AI , We have been able to push the responsive (Active ) AI on any given level up to around 7 at a time , with no significant drop in frame rate.

So you basically get 2 different enemies, and give them two scripts, right?

So, an example'd be:

Bob 1: shoot.fpi; spawns when dead

Bob 2: snipe.fpi, swd.

Would that be right, because I need some wave after wave after wave for my side project Vietnam.

Clarion: Violent Clash

Arriving in 2007.
