I use AVIRA which has served me well and rates pretty high!

I've used Symantec AV for a long time now, always done me perfectly and doesn't come with all the crap that Norton does. Never had a major virus problem at all, but I guess half of it is common sense - you just keep your Windows installation up to date and don't visit *dodgy* sites.
