To be honest, I'm not too keen on it.

I mean, sure, it's a great little widget, and cleverly used, but still... Why?
If you're going to go to a site, just click the link.

Not bad. Bit like that FF preview plugin for Google or IMDB. Dunno if I'm that taken by the little icon next to everything though. Couldn't it just show it if you hover over the link? I mean one line is not too bad, but imagine lots of links. Icontastic. Look at Jess' sig, which is already looking a little naff with the 2 icons. Dunno....

They should also make the Web button (homepage of user) against a post have a preview too.

Cheers

Do you not see a little icon to the right of it? Hover over that and you'll see the preview

Used to work fine here. Today whenever I try to load any forum page, I have to wait while the page sits at 100% and tries to connect to spa.snap.com, which totally makes my browser unresponsive for a minute or two.

Neat, but useless feature.

Yeah, there should be an option in your profile to turn it off. Now and again I get the page freezing while it does something with Snap.

Not sure if you were saying TGC should add the profile option or that there already is one, but I couldn't find an option.

There is an option to disable it. In the Snaps preview windows that appears, there is in the top right corner in fine print "options and disable".

Relax, I understand j00!

We've been kinda having this discussion in the mods forum - I can't see the point of having it, at least not from a users point of view.

If you don't like it and are using firefox, you can install the Adblock Plus plug-in and disable it there by adding 'http://spa.snap.com/*' to the list of filters. If you do it this way instead of using the disable option on the pop-up, then it saves you a download of the javascript, the icons, and the running of that javascript.
