I've done a test jumping off a building with ten floors and the player survives and is left with 260 on the health rating.

I'm wondering if it's possible to code in a key when jumping off buildings to simulate a parachuting action, no parachute needs to be seen or opened, the idea being that if the key is pressed no injury is sustained as it was indicated as a parachute jump, if you know what I am meaning.

So can this be scripted?

I'm not sure that you can edit the speed at which the character falls, I think it'd need to be a source edit.

Sure, it just depends how detailed you want to get. Use scancodekeypressed= to watch for the key press and noraycastup= to make sure that the players feet are in the air. You create a sequence to get the players current health using plrhealthgreater=, use raycastup= to determin when the players feet hit the ground, and then use another sequence of plrhealthless= to determine how much health was lost and return it to aprox where it was.

Best of luck.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Wouldn't that be editing the source code then?

@ xplosys: I e-mailed you, thanks for your input

@ Veron: Actually jumping from a great height in FPSC has a similar rate of descent as really parachuting, like jumping off a 10ft wall or a bit less harsh on the knees infact. I did three drops in deep snow once, snow was the size of golf balls coming down
