Oh. My. God. Your retarded on MULTIPLE scales if you don't realize that these things are 90% of the time scripted, or faked. They also don't show the SMART americans, or the NORMAL americans, they just show the absolute STUPID americans. Its media, get used to it.

Thats funny, because last time I checked, America only had a bad education system, not a bad amount of intelligent people. I mean, Intel, AMD, Asus, many engineering companies, Microsoft, and all these places that have their coders/designers/engineers here, CAN'T mean we have any smart people...

Though I do admit it is our fault that outsourcing occurs in factory positioned jobs=P

Would you prefer he jumped and caught the rock with his legs? I don't really see the unrealistic part, since any physically fit human should be quite capable of pulling themselves up with just their arms.

Oh, and France is any better Benji?

Every country is going to have their smart people and retards. As for the so-called journalists, there's no story of interest for them if they interview the non-retards. Don't judge the rest of us based on the trashy people you see on Jerry Springer or something.

It's called propaganda. I personally have never met anyone that stupid, and I think the people like that deserve to be bombed themselves. You can find idiots in every country, just because they don't show the other 99% of people they interviewed because they were normal doesn't mean they don't exist. I don't deny that some American's want Britain bombed, but a) They are hillbillies who have are clueless to the world outside of their trailer, and b) They have no idea what they are talking about and are completely uneducated, unlike the other 99% of the US . I bet you there are more Brits who want to bomb America, than American's bomb Britain. My point is, overall, MOST American's don't hate the British, but it does seem that most Brits hate American's (or, like I said, the American government, and so therefore the American people) .

The reason I hate this movie so much is it summarizes everything I dislike about almost all movies made since "The Matrix", from "Alien v.s Predator"'s freeze-frame-shot of a facehugger to a bad guy in Mission Impossible trying to slit Tom Cruise's neck with surgical precision, using a helicoptor rotor...as he's flying it through a tunnel.

Older action movies, where a punch was a punch, and didn't send the victim flying 20 feet only to get up and dust themselves off, were much more intense.

I almost fell asleep during 300, and I was very annoyed that they had English accents. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this because they believe North Americans can't tell? Maybe the majority of us think everyone back then spoke with an English accent, and it sounds more intelligent, etc. etc.? They are basically telling us we're stupid--- thanks.

I don't think it's that most of us couldn't tell; it's just that we don't care one way or another. I went to enjoy the movie, not pick apart it's historical accuracy or ridicule the way the King climbed a small cliff. I have a B.S in History, for what it's worth; but I can still sit back and enjoy a good flick now and then.

It's from the same guy that put together Sin City...what did you expect?

Actually, some things annoy certain people. Inaccurate accents annoy me (as do bad fake ones). For example I couldn't watch V for Vendetta because of Natalie Portman's fake English accent (and I tried to watch it!). Troy was also a bad culprit of the whole "it's historical so everyone has English accents." Ludicrous.

Portman used an English accent in that movie? hmmm. I was so bored watching V for Vendetta, I thought it kinda sucked.
Never saw Troy.

It was probably easier to get everyone to use an English accent in 300 than it would've been to get them to sound Greek. Is it really that big of an issue?

Pretty easy actually; I opted not to take a second language...which would have given me a B.A. (Bachelor of the Arts). Other than that, you have to attend an accredited 4-year College or University. After you successfully complete the required credits (usually around 124-128 credit hours), you are entitled to receive your Diploma. Pretty easy concept really.

Quote: "Actually, some things annoy certain people. Inaccurate accents annoy me (as do bad fake ones)."

Like I said, it was made by the guy who created Sin City; most people knew that going in, and weren't expecting historical accuracy or absolute accents. You'll probably want to stay away from any work coming from Frank Miller in the future, as I suspect it will contain the same glaring inaccuracies.

The goal is not to make it as historically accurate as possible, in fact it's far from that. It was a very entertaining movie that told it's story in the best way possible, the historical accuracy couldn't matter less.

That's not as bad as you think you said.

That doesn't matter. Kate Winslet does a pretty good job of hiding her English accent for most of her movies.

Dudes, I know that! Obviously it's not historically accurate--- there was a guy with swords for hands for goodness sake! But there IS a difference between "historically accurate" and "accurate". Certain little things bug me, and this is one of them.

Quote: "You'll probably want to stay away from any work coming from Frank Miller in the future, as I suspect it will contain the same glaring inaccuracies."

Doesn't have anything to do with Frank Miller. I can assure you he doesn't create characters who are Greek but have English accents specifically in his novels. I don't see what the big deal is-- can't some of you guys listen to criticisms? Maybe you're too easy to please??

I doubt they originally spoke English too, should we fault the movie for that inaccuracy?

Just think of it like Star Trek, and how every alien in the universe speaks english.

Okay, for once, I agree with Steve here.

Now, this may be a couple of days old, but all you brits are basing us americans on is what the media shows. Why not come over here for a week, into areas, and see what people think of brits, instead of believing whatever you hear?

Hollywood is not a piece of crap. I've been there before, and while the people dressed up in weird costumes was quite awkward, does not mean it cannot be a place for people to dress how they feel. Even if they do look like a retard.

For the record, I personally don't lump American people in with their government or media, or hollywood for that matter. The point I agreed with above was just that hollywood loves to big up America, and unfortunately, lots of people believe there is more factual content in hollywood cinema than there actually is.
