Ok, heres my little project that I have started on. It doesn't exactly have a story, but I'm trying to make everything as custom as possible. About 95% of its home made, custom or off the forums.

It started off as a comp amongst a few friends (50 quid for the best looking level) which I decided to take a bit further than just a stupid competition. I got right into using Signs IV, Milkshape and TGC Entity Maker.

Let us know of what you think.

-Cheers Smithy

I recommend Photoshopping / scanning in some papers and turning them into overlays, and scattering them everywhere.

I am an expert in destroyed buildings...

Try modeling little pieces of rubble, or little piles of rubble, small ones though, like the rubble overlay, except 3D. Maybe make hunks of cieling and stuff lying around. Also, I think you should grunge up your brick texture.

Rubbish bags are a must and are not too difficult to create,a texture for these is also fairly easy.Keep them low poly and scatter them about, may be better to make some transparent planes with textured newspapers and debris to scatter about too.
This is looking smart.Keep it up.

I was good at making things wrecked in Milkshape, but then when I (learned how to) converted the models, only one side would show up...because I would duplicate and extrude.. Got any hints on that?

Grunge up? Like the grunge on the archways? (Second last screenie)

I've got the level now covered with newspaper decals made with Signs...but they are relitevly new ones...I need Cuban and from Che Guevera time ones..lol
Im gonna try and model some garbage bags now.

I know nothing, I just know how to map.

Cheers, Smithy.

I'm having heaps of problems with FPSC now... I think I have reached my lighting limit or something...cause instead of loading everything, it loaded like the odd polygon..I'll get a screenie up as soon as possible..it looks so weird...won't be happy if its all gone.

VIVA LA REVOLUTION

Ok, I worked it all out...here's the update screenies with mess and stuff. I need more concrete thingos, so this is just the beggining.

I've started working on some story ideas...but I can't hold one down. I'm stuck in between gun running, drugs, gang warfare and paramilitary groups trying to start another revolution. I might use all of them.

Keep the comments and hints comming, it inspires me to continue on with my work. (I'll get another video up as soon as I get some enemies..but of course, I don't know what they are going to be!)

This is my idea of the roof caving in. I wanna learn how to make decals like the ones in Butters game...that would make it look soo much cooler.

Ok, thats all of it for now. I'll make some more mess (LOL) and a few more models and segments, and put a few more screenies up over the next few days.

Keep the comments comming!

Cheers, Smithy

How about, like, dead bodies and guns lying around, maybe break an AK47 in half to make it look like it's being repaired, etc.

I have a lot of messy ideas just waiting to be messed with, LOL.

It's Che GUEVARA not Che GUEVERA=(which means Testicle SACK). Since you are doing a game about El Che who was a bloodthirsty psychopath you might want to add some "paredons" (execution walls) for his victims...ahh lots of blood too.

Weve covered that.

The factory itself had been abandoned for a long time, so there wouldn't be bodies lying around. Lol.
I'll try the AK idea. Put a bit of rust and crud on it.

THis is looking really nice.

Can I advise you watch a movie called the motor cycle diaries though?

The only thing I don't like is the stencil of che on the wall, with no smoking underneith. Somehow, I can't see a South American guerilla fighter NOT smoking

Smoke and you die rule. Lol, yeah I'll change it..but there is live ammunition lying around...

Quote: "google image searches"

Nah dude, mine are from Alltheweb.com lol.

Quote: "Alpha some of those papers, tear them up a little."

Yeah, I will.

I have to start all of it again though, as my computer decided that corrupting itself is fun, so I lost everything. But, I have the general layout down. My Milkshape is screwing up...saying its unregistered...which is annoying..seeming I paid for it. Yeah, I'll have some screenies of the out doorness (lol) soon.
