Theres nothing wrong with t3dgm on WIP.

From my understanding, it is perfectly allowed. Not all WIPs have to be programmed in DarkBASIC/DBP you know.

T3DGM isn't bad, it's just limiting and aged. For a young game developer still learning to make there own games it provides alot of inspiration

Yawn. Just looks like a 3DGM game. Sorry, but it really takes no effort to whip up something like that in a matter of minutes. You use a stock map, select what enemies you want, add objects etc, and you're done. And the fact that it took a month for you to post "new" screenshots?

ummmm you should never EVER shoot something down for what it was made with. even if it's the best ever but was made with 3DGM, you still shouldn't do that.

The 3D Game maker was the first software that I purchased from The Game Creators. I enjoyed it for a while but it has it's limits. Mainly due to the fact that nearly all the games made in it look the same. Those screenshots show all the stock media. Stock weapon, stock map and stock objects, even the HUD isn't custom. All 3D Game maker games play the same. There is no element of challenge. You go through the level, finger on the mouse button killing the enemies, destroying objects and picking up random items. You do that, then you go on to the next level. Now, create a game that consists entirely of custom media (sounds, textures, models etc) using the 3D Game maker, and then, then you may have something which is remotely interesting.

Also, your response to my comment is not true. T3DGM is limited, so limited that all the games work in the same way. But what makes me wonder is, those new screenshots of your game, that has obviously taken you a month to make, is something that can be done in a minute with ease. The subject is not about putting down T3DGM, it is the subject on this game. I don't know why you posted this game in this thread, when there are other projects being produced that show true effort. I can tell and I am sure others would agree, that this game is a poor example of what T3DGM is capable of, even if T3DGM is not very capable in the first place.

I haven't seen any TGM stuff really, so this is news to me. Looks a lot like doom 2 if you ask me. Is there much script editing that can be done with that tool? Kepp up the good work.

I disagree with Greenlig, and I don't go stand up for the 'flamers' very often.

In this case, let's see the unfair critics:
- T3DGM : It is TGC and allowed, so perfectly good for him to use that.
- Easy to make : Yes, you could whip this up in minutes. That ain't a problem, cause you still need to whip it up.

Now see the fair critics:
- Hell On Earth : This game changes barely nothing from Hell on Earth. I could make pac-man and re-release it with a puppet, rolling ball, diamonds instead of dots and uzi-bearing nazi's as ghosts, and continue doing that all day. Level design and gameplay is virtually identical. This might be caused by using T3DGM, but more likely it's just a clone.

And my personal critics:
- Zavix' defence: It is good to defend your game creation software, but how can you attack DarkBASIC all the time if you say we shouldn't attack programming languages (pointing to the HoE thread)? DarkBASIC Classic, by chance, created what I find the best game ever in any TGC language: EvoChron: Alliance. I mean, you're in no position to compare - several of the people here are. Also, even if DarkBASIC Classic is one year older, it holds far more possibilities and customisation. Finally, that DarkBASIC is one year older doesn't change the fact T3DGM with it's options is outdated.
- T3DGM : It is limited, outdated, and this shows. You can deny that how often as you want, but you will not succeed - to make something noteworthy, you must be briliant or extremely skilled. You know this, I know this, we all know this. Zavix can keep denying it, but I'd challenge him to make his next game a total suprise in quality and gameplay - I'm definitely wondering if T3DGM can be pushed that far.

Now about the game:
The game adds nothing that Hell on Earth couldn't have offered or, even worse, did already offer. I see little change and definitely nothing, given the fact that it's a creation in T3DGM, that would justify a second release in such short time. The game mechanics are good, the looks are good, everything is good - but I don't think you should release another of these games unless you figure out something really smart. Otherwise, although I hate to do it, I recommend you check out other TGC products as well. Believe me, it'll take some time to learn, but eventually - if you really try and have the talent - you might be programming T3DGM-like stuff in it.

seems like a little much, I know. But at this moment, I have no programs that actually make stuff like this.

Well...you've answered your own question. Just import the necessary objects into FPSC from T3DGM. You have the model and the texture, it's just a matter of creating the FPE and gunspec files.

(by the way, crossbows don't shoot arrows, they shoot "bolts")

As for modelling, try Gamespace lite. It's free and has all the features of the commercial version except you can only export to a certain amount of polygons, but it should be alright for what you want to create. The interface is really easy to understand as oppose to "traditional" modelling packages.

And i think that it looks fun thats what i like about T3DGM games that are fun to play like i made a game called City of the Dead where you play as a woman who is departed with her family and you need to travel thru a city and a temple to reach her family.

Don't state your age, but you might be able to persuade the powers that be (in charge of your internet and PC) to maybe go along with something that doesn't rot your brain, keeps you out of trouble, and is a positive outlet for creativity.

Just a word of encouragement - it personally takes me awhile to go from downloading any 3d modeling package to get something basic that looks like something. I suspect animation would take me even longer to get the hang of.

So if it seems "to hard" stick with it anyway and play play play. I'll mess with a modeling software for a long time clicking new, try something, new try something - not saving anything - just experimenting. I suspect everyone needs to do this until they can start making use of the various tools etc at their disposal.

Gs Lite is limited to 500 poly's per scene, so that's probably why. I've been learning several modelers for a week now trying to see which would better benifit me and my project, and I have to say my favorite ones are:

-Anim8tor
-Blender
-Wings 3D

A good combination to have IMO. Model your object in Anim8tor, uvmap in Wings 3d, then animate and export in Blender. Simple as that, and they are all free.

Just a suggestion.
