Just got DBPron and must say, I'm bloody impressed !
Starting very small though.
Got a 1 screen space invaders screen working.

Now I'm attempting a platformer.
Although it's going quite well I am having a problem with sprites.

My sprites appear to be colliding with the invisible box around the sprite.

You know when you cut your sprite from the bitmap, the black background.

It's invisible in the game but still appears to be colliding.
Is there a way around this ?

Total newbie question and I'll probably kick myself but any help would be great.

Cheers.
Everybody, I've got something to say !

I don't use sprites much myself, but I guess the answer is that the engine doesn't care whether a pixel is transparent or not, it's still part of the sprite and it will still collide.

Thanks in advance.

I once did a pixel perfect collision function - but because it used GET IMAGE it was way to slow to be of any practical use

If you can catch IanM, he wrote a function that aint slow and so did someone else (i can't remember the someone elses name)

It was freddix - his worked with both 16bit and 32bit images.

Mine was co-written with ChipOne and handles 32 bit images only - but it's a lot faster. It's attached.
