Upon searching google for a answer to my problem I found this articlehttp://www.short-media.com/articles/repair_windows_xp

I think this article might actually help me out, these commands are not outlined in the listed commands under the recovery console, my computer likes to get to the start up screen that says "microsoft windows xp" with the nice little bar that scrolls across the bottom, and then it hangs for ever and ever. I have narrowed it down to a problem with the boot sector I'm sure of it. So I thought I would share the site for people who might have the same problem in the near future.
