If you have never tried FLOCK, then I recommend that you get it now! It is open source, and originally based on firefox, but which is better?

You can get it, and everything that you need to know about it at www.flock.com

Personally, I think FLOCK is better, because you can upload images or even files in a couple of clicks (You just drag the file onto the photobucket toolbar and it uploads to your account!) You can also choose other sites which do the same thing.

Which one do you think is better?

Yes... but surely someone could just write an extension for Firefox that does that?

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

I remember hearing about it a while ago, but never really thought much of it. But I just downloaded it, and from the start I like it, though we'll see how it is after a few days of use.

I didn't mind IE up until 7. I can't stand the new look/interface. Everything was just alot easier in 6. I'm gonna try this FLOCK soon.

I used Flock for over half a year, after blanky told me about it.. I guess it's just the skin that gets me. Anyway, a peculiar thing happened the other morning, after having it installed for 3 months (since my format) and visiting just over 23,000 web pages without clearing my history/cache, it screwed up. As you'd expect it got slow, but it also switched an image on Wikipedia with a random image from my cache... and after that I just thought, "That's not reliable at all!" and I'm now using Firefox. It's good for a while, but the novelty seems to wear off, especially when it starts screwing with your stuff.

The only feature of Flock I really enjoyed was the web snippets and live bookmarks, and there are extensions for Firefox to allow live bookmarks, so it's all good.

I'll give it a go when the new version comes out, but I don't feel I'll be returning any time soon.

So Flock has its own rendering engine and doesn't rely on FF or IE?

IE5 was the most stable ever, never crashed once. Too bad it had more holes than swiss cheese.

I just have a simple question, why would I want a browser to do more than just display a webpage? Hoggin' up resources by loading things I don't need, I may as well use the AOL browser.

wow thanks diggsey! I really like it. The skin is good, its not that different than firefox except it has all kinds of extra stuff. And its faster.

But extentions that work with Firefox don't work with Flock. Most of the really popular extentions work with Flock now (It has to be converted), but some like Adblock Plus don't (Adblock works, but its not as good)

But I have found ways to get around that. It is definitely worth a try.

Heh heh.

Flock is really an amazing browser.

You can download plugins just as easily for it as well.

I have a side bar.
A weather displayer
An extra ad blocker
An IP address displayer
An anti phishing thing
A web page editor

The list goes on.

Whats more, it has quite a few things for me. I'll send this pic here..... *Attatched*

Cheers,

-db

Ad Block Plus worked fine here. Just try and install it, but be careful of the popup telling you it's not for Flock, the "Yes" and "No" buttons are switched round; I actually spent 5 minutes telling it not to install, wondering why it didn't work.
