Hey all,

Just returned from the new fangled stadium, I come back with mixed opinions though..

The stadium looks very pretty, it looks and feels modern. The walkways in the ground are good widths.

The food, however, is STUPIDLY priced. £4.00 for a hot-dog!?! that is absolutely ridiculous. Also, whats even crazier is all the toilets outside the ground were locked. 55,000 people and not one external toilet opened (fortunately the constant persistance of me managed to get inside the ground without tickets to use the toilets but..). Hundreds of people must have tried to use them. Apparently they 'lost the key'

On a football note what is Richardson doing in the side? he's awful, England played some good football but the defence made some shocking mistakes that gave Italy chances.

rich,
Any one else go today? any one got any stories?

food price doesn't sound any worse than a typical movie theater these days.

Sounds like the food prices at ball parks here in the U.S. Highway robbery imo. I haven't seen much about the new Wembley yet but I'm sure I'll see it on TV when Manchester United beats the dirt out of Chelsea in the FA Cup

Bah, I love Old Trafford (but not as much as Emirates, that stadium is gorgeous). But I'm pretty sure they're doing the Cup in the new Wembley, can't remember where I heard that though. Not that it really matters to me since I'll probably never get to visit any of them at least not in the forseeable future.

The new wembley has to be approved before it can host the cup, which I think is more than likely now. Then it hosts the muse concert im going to

Yea it certainly had teathing problems!

I'm going to the 'Diana' concert in July. Not as hardcore as Muse but it will be a good atmosphere. Lets just hope Derby County don't have to go to Wembley this year and qualify automatically!

£4 for a hot dog? Thats not too bad. When I lived in the UK, the last time I looked a hot dog cost around £2.50 normally. And don't forget £4 is almost $8. Nice. And was it one of those pathetic "could have it yourself for 10p and a kettle" hot dogs?

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Yea, it certainly was. I suppose you expect to pay alot but at that price it is a bit of daylight robbery.

It is definately a pretty stadium though, the atmosphere was really great, although the queues for the tube weren't. Little tip, take the streets to get to 'Wembley Park', don't go through the walkway, we'd still be there now if we had!

Whats the quickest route from Central London, say Hyde Park using public transport to get to the stadium early morning, i.e. about 6am
