Hi.
Managed to get DBP working under vista with no problems.
I wondered if anyone had managed to get DBC working under vista yet ?
I get a "d3drm.dll was not found" error..
Any ideas anyone ?
Thanks,
Steve

Solved it. Downloaded the .dll from this link
http://www.driverskit.net/dll/get/494.html
and dropped it in the windows\system32 directory and hey presto ! DBC running and compiling under vista
If the link goes down, I have attached the .dll as a RAR file for those who may need it...

Yes mate, but you don't have to put in in the system32 directory if you don't want to, you can keep the .dll in the same directory as your executable and it will work just fine.

That´s useful info man, thanks!

Edit: Does the vista user also have to install directx 9.0c?

Wouldn't have thought so thought as it's dx8 I think

However this is a DarkBASIC DX7 thread,
so the answer to the question
Edit: Does the vista user also have to install directx 9.0c?
is no.

Depending on the version of DBP that is installed,
it can be either DX8.1 based (through patch 4.1) or DX9.??? based.

I'm unique, just like everybody else.

Hi there! I mainly wanted to say a huge thanks for the info and driver, as i'm working on some budget games but don't yet have a Vista test rig.
Also though, is there any noticable differences in speeds of DBC games under Vista?! After all the talk of games like Call of Duty and Half-Life running slowly, i'm a little scepticle.
Thanks again for the info and advice.
