What is the best way to have a transparent HUD display on your screen.

Right now I have a small rectangle locked to the screen and applied a texture to it will a green square in the foreground on it with the background of the texture being completley black.

I then GHOST the object, it seems to be working but my "green" outline is SO transparent that it is almost non existent.

Anyone else run into this issue?

Try using a sprite instead of a plain. That way you can fade your HUD using 'SET SPRITE ALPHA' to the level you require.

Try using an image editor program for the HUD. I use Photoshop 7.0, which can export the pictures as png-format.
Then you just use the "load image" command, and next you use "sprite" command. You load the image, convert it to a sprite and voila! transparency and all weird effects you may have applied to the picture, is preserved.
