I accept though that this game is the first of its kind hence it didn't have anything to examine and learn from first, and hence it will be buggy. Even so, I haven't actually found that many bugs in the game.
This time yesterday I was being annoyed by how difficult it would be to see a friend who claimed he was parked right infront of you, almost as if you were on separate servers. I think its because the server, to save bandwidth, only feeds your computer information about cars near you, but only periodically checks to see who's nearby. It turns out that simply clicking on your friend on the map sorta gives the server a jolt to say "oi, look, i've just spawned next to my friend, there for we're next to each other!" and the servers like "oh yeh, sure.. here you go" and hey presto, a second later your friend's visible. bug sorted
however, it's a fair bit harder when you have to actually find your friend in game first to add to your friends list.
i think the bigger annoyance is the fact it uses gamespy, it sorta makes things a little.. tedious, when you make a profile and sign up to the forums and stuff.
the only thing that actually affects my own gameplay, is my pc is right down at the minimum spec for the game, hence at high speeds, having to rapidly compute the scenery flashing by me causes the frame rate to drop loads and every now and then freeze momentarily, and then unfreeze with me on the side of the road, evidently crashed into a car or something, but unsure when why or how since it happened while it was frozen. This is why i prefer the country roads away from intense city scenery.
