Hey dudes,

Yeah I'm quitting programming and 3D modelling. Why, since Sunday I've been having heart pulputations (sp?) high blood pressure and yesterday I had the 'shakes', the doctor says it's most likely stress related, but I'll find out for certain when I get my blood and electrode test results back. So its best that I keep it chilled as much as possible, so much so that I've got my teacher to move my coursework deadline and won't be going back to 6th form until after easter so I can reduce stress levels and keep it cool.

Now I've been told that 3D modelling and programming, heck going on the computer isn't at all helpful, as I study real hard in 6th form, come home study for a while then go on the computer (if I'm not on it already from studying), which is too much strain, so I'm giving that up until at least after my exams, if not until after I leave uni (in 3 years time)

So, what about my 3D modelling challenge I hold over in 3D Chat, well I'm happy for any volunteers to take over, the person who I think it best suited will take over. Basically you will have to copy the format I have used, the global rules, and replace my sticky thread with your own for editing yourself, of course you'll meed a mod to fix that for you, MikeS has been one of the supporting mods, I'm sure if I or the person I select drops him an email, he may quickly do the switch.

Well, I'll probably stick around here, so I'm not saying adios.

Unless you just gave birth it is most likely stress.
However it doesn't seem to me that computers are all that stressful and actually helps me release stress. I get on my computer and program to unwind every night before bed. Makes my mind sort of get away from the world and it's problems. If you have a tough time modelling or programming then stay away from it for a while, it you really have a good time with it and don't get stressed out over it, I would not stop unless it is making your school work harder and causing stress. I would wager most of your stress is from school itself. I am no doctor, but this is how I would look at it. Good luck on getting better.

Cheers, I think for me programming and 3D modelling isn't a reliever, it either makes it worse or doesn't reduce it, simply because I don't give myself time to relax properly, for me computer isn't a relaxing task, particularly with my conputer. I agree that this isn't the source, but I can it isn't helping me either, I think perhaps if I was more skilled, had a more powerful computer and a more ergonomic desktop it probably would me more relaxing to do.

But instead I'm just going to carry on with my more chilling and stress relieving hobbies more.

Thanks dude.

Like karate?

To be fair though, if i were in your situation and got told to not programm or make models or anything computer related really, it would probably INCREASE my stress level as i'm addicted, lol.

Ouch. Feel better dude.

Note that coffee can also give you palpitations. Doesn't account for high blood pressure or anything though, so that throws that theory right out the window.

Haha, I suppose thats why I still watch 24, yeah seeing Jack in tight situation is tense, but he always makes it, but not seeing any of it...thats worse

Indeed, but I stopped going because I am in the 'climax' of my A Levels, I'll return to that once my pulputations are gone and so are my A Levels. So all I am actually doing is enjoying the many Spongebob episodes during the day, taking a chance to complete FFXII and catching up on any novels that need reading Cheers

Cheers dude, indeed, good thing I don't drink coffee, that's probably why I can't program as well as I should by now

seriously, how can anyone watch spongebob continuesly? specially when they're A level students. i got sick of it in like year 8. anyway, hope you feel better soon and that the migranes leave you alone (i know what its like, i have 'em 24/7) but what exactly is an "electrode" test? i seriously have no idea what it is!

and randomly off-topic, has anyone ever been in an MRI machine and nearly had a chlostrophobic fit? man those things scare me.

Hehe, I still have my inner child to please, heck when I was bored on Sunday I just sat down and watched episodes of Shaun the Sheep on You-tube.

Cheers, an electrode test is basically when they stick bits of metal to your chest, sides and ankles and wire you up to a machine to check your heart, I don't know what kind of results for the heart they get, but then I didn't ask nor am I medical smart.

Hehe, I was just making a joke, coffee seemed to be a late night programmer thing, so I tried to make a funny.

No, this is probably the first health issue I've had, so the last time the doctor has ever had to check me out was when I last had an ear infection as a kid. I suppose having a fit when being checked on must be pretty scary though, because you don't know necessarily what the outcome is.

Glad to say I've never been in one, but if I did I could probably handle it. I am very claustrophobic, but I can control it. If I breathe deep and just think about the fact I can be gotten out of the tube at a push of a button I'd be ok... However... if the power went out or there was a fire while I was inside... That would be a different story.

EDIT, almost forogt... Get well soon!

You and me have opposite problems. I'm a bum a lot of the time and then I get mad at myself for bumming off. Anyway sad to see you go man. You did a good job running that contest for as long as you did. See ya around.

Cheers man, I wouldn't get mad at yourself, but try to stop being a 'bum' one step at a time, start small like doing little chores voluntarily, my sister is the same really, but we finally got her to do work without arguing back.

Palpitations can be scary things. I had them for about a 2 month period then they just stopped. The doc said it could have been a virus .It can feel quite worrying when it happens but if you stress too much because of it, that will just make you feel worse.
Hope you feel better soon.

A part of you that still likes to be childish, but not necessarily in the annoying immature way.

Indeed, Monday was when I was worried and that's when they were the worst, having people worried about you makes you wonder how serious it could be, because then we didn't know what the cause was. But now that we do, I know I'm not supposed to worry about anything or stress at anything, so I don't, because that knowledge alone removes most of the worry of the possible effects of the pulputations (As you know how to reduce them)

Cheers buddy.

Heh, it probably didn't come out as well as it did in my head; but that post was supposed to be my crude attempt at humour (I do understand the concept of an inner child). Re-evaluate my usage of italics, and hopefully you'll see my crude implication

I was not going to reply as I am; I think; still somewhat of an outsider, but I just want to wish you all the best Seppuku. You have been, pretty much, a fixture here and I enjoy reading your posts; even if I have trouble understanding them sometimes. Any way, take care of your health, and please come back and chat with the gang every chance you get. I can pretty much say, there is no one here like you.

Get well

I wouldn't say anybody who posts is an outsider, even if they are a bit light on the posts and aren't completely familiar with the regulars.

To you and all those wacky members that make this a great forum, and place to be. I am so glad you will still be around.

I just can't imagine this forum without yourself, Van B, Scraggle, Benjamin, Indi, Lost in Thought and so many more that deserve a shout out. This forum and its users are the reason I purchased DBC and DBP. And you are one of the users that make it interesting to log on and see what is new.

So a toast to the valuable members of the TGC forums. Salute.
