I was just curious, is it possible to have sound emit from a static entity?

For example, lets say I have a level with a boom box stereo in it and I want it to play music that you can hear when you get close to it. The closer you get, the louder it gets.

Another example would be a group of people talking and you can hear their conversation as you approach them.

Is this possible, and if so, how?

!WRONG!I am pretty sure its not possible because static objects are just static i think a sound zone would work for that or just a dynamic entity.!WRONG! READ BELOW

Static entities cannot emit sounds. In FPSC all static entities are rendered as part of the background geometry...in simple terms they are just scenery and you can't interact with them.
You can use a triggerzone, soundzone, etc. near the static entity in question to make it appear that the static entity is emitting a sound.

it actually is possible because the material of a static object decides the material sound, so what you might be able to do is change the sound in one of the materials or or make a new material so Its possible. also i think the material only works when you walk on it. so you could make a boom box with a smallish radius base and applay a custom material then make another ring around that boombox part that would have a softer sound and progressively softer. so it can be done but it would take a lot of tweaking. hope I'm helping and making sense. ok maybe im going over the top but heres a diagram that would probably work.
