I actually prefer mp3 for sound effects rather than wav files. Mp3's are much smaller in size. The only extention allowed in the sound commands are wav's. I found that if i want to use a sound effect as a mp3 I have to use the load and play music command. Just dont loop it. Just thought this could help someone.

I have also discovered the reason for wav's and the sound command. The sound command has a frequency tag. You can set the wav's to different frequencies effectively speeding up or slowing down the file.
