Hi all,

Well I finally had time to grab the Castlevania SOTN demo on XBLA and I have to admit I was impressed, so I bought the game. Now the 'Help and Controls' guide built into it is complete pants, and doesn't actually help with anything - so is anyone out there playing this, and if so how in the frigging hell do you save your progress?

So far I've managed to get all my stuff nicked by Death, kill some baddies, pick-up a few items (sword, potion, etc) and generally explore a tiny bit of the castle - but I keep getting killed and having to go through the whole thing all over again (kill Dracula, meet Death, yadda yadda). At the start you get to pick a save slot and name it, so how do you actually USE it during the game? I figured it would be under the 'System' part of the inventory, but all I've got are window colours and sounds.

Also how do you get the map up?

Hi Rich,

Scattered around the castle are rooms which contain big spheres/globes in the centre of the room. That is a save room. Just walk up to the sphere and press the appropriate key to activate (I can't remember off-hand what button it is; it may be press up on the dpad).

The sphere turns into a wireframe coffin which turns into a textured coffin. Your game is now saved.
